It honestly seems like a kiss of death for them to keep this date. Even before people were allowed to marinate on how hackneyed this year’s rollout has been or before the Dune trailer or before superhero films have been thrown to the wayside, keeping any date against a film with real star power + artistic vision is such a death wish by Disney

Honestly would not be surprised if this only did marginal more revenue and had less profit

Is it crazy to say that Dune has 3 out of the 5 top actors if you combined the list from both them and Avengers? Timmy is probably the most notable of what will have been the last 13 months by that time. Rob Pat on top of being himself is working on 4 major films and has 2 Billy $$ films (along with Pugh). Zendaya will have 3 1B+ flicks

It’s easy to say that when in practically every online circle the trailer and movie is getting demolished, but in reality it’s going to still do very well.

It will make a billion relatively easily, beyond that who knows. AoU is currently the lowest grossing Avengers film, and I can realistically see this falling short of that but not by much.

I think anything less than 1.5 is a failure tbh. It’s the most expensive movie they’ve done and I’ve just seen 700m as the budget. Dune 3 is at 200. Disregard Dune entirely, only making back double (1.5) would be a failure for this movie, this saga and prob the genre

And you gotta follow through on Secret Wars which will prob cost even more with the characters people actually like being in that one and the scope being much larger (assuming it follows some of the comic and gives us a soft reset).

Doom stopping Thor would’ve hit so much harder if it wasn’t already done with Hela. And those lightning jump shots gotta go.

Dune will be the better movie but avengers will make more just based off IP alone. I imagine the average age of dune 3 audiences will be 25+
