You right that resurrection not the right word but bringing back Wolverine rdj and cap was def not on the cards at the time this is a pivot/course correction after the shift to new characters fizzled

once spider-man got brought in and disney purchased fox, it was a goal to get these characters all in one shared universe

now i agree with the notion that some characters did not land the mark but i believe certain actors were always in the cards to return (rdj & chris evans) long before the public soured on marvel and the majors incident happened. it would’ve been much more of a surprise if not for that

but the moment chris evans vehemently denied ever returning to a mcu movie i knew that nigga was lying lmao

Lmaooooo you might be right about Evan’s

It’s all speculation and opinion based so who really knows

I’m of the mind they were still saving doom for phases later until the kang/majors fiasco went down

Quantumania released in Feb. 2023, the Majors incident happened in March 2023, RDJ was announced as Doom in July 2024.

It seems like in that one year period is when the decision to pivot to Doom was made, but they still had multiple projects on the way that were either featuring Kang or were already too far into production to include Doom.

    • Filming for Loki Season 2, which Kang was heavily involved in, had finished by October 2022. The season premiered in October 2023.
    • Guardians Vol. 3 & The Marvels were both already shot and set to be released in May 2023 and November 2023 respectively.

    • Deadpool & Wolverine began filming in May 2023, was paused in July due to the strikes, and resumed in November.

    • Brave New World finished filming by June 2023.

    • Thunderbolts* was originally supposed to film in Summer 2023, but was delayed to February 2024 due to the strikes, but the film was already fully written and casted.

    • Fantastic Four was already fully written and casted by the start of 2024 as well, and it began filming in July.

There basically was not a single film in which Doom could’ve been feasibly added to post-Quantumania because all of them were way too deep in production by the time that RDJ was even brought on as Doom

Not starting my year reading this when I mean post credits simple scene

almost like one is legitimate source material for the other medium

this s*** is not rocket science

Source material doesn’t require it follows the same tropes or cons . There are non comic book movies that have reviving characters that do it for MONEY

  • Comic books didn’t invent bad writing , infinite revives of characters tv shows and movies have been doing it before . Me pointing out a comic book movie doesn’t isn’t a “ it’s based on a comic book “ moment . No s*** it’s based on a comic book . Will still be there to see it .

I just explained to you that four of the projects were basically already finished before RDJ was officially signed on and announced to be Doom

    Loki Season 2
    Guardians Vol. 3
    The Marvels
    Deadpool & Wolverine

All were completed and released before RDJ was announced as Doom, how the hell would they have put him in a post credits for one of those?

I’m just talking a better post credit scene man

A better post credit scene lead in introducing doom could easily been accomplished .

First you said why didn’t they build up Doom more

When that was addressed, then you said you wanted simple post credits scenes

When that was addressed, you said the post credit scene we got should’ve been better

Man you just complaining to complain

CONs as negatives . No it doesn’t . When you go from medium to medium you can improve upon things . The reason they are doing some of these revives are nostalgia and knowing it can MAKE MONEY THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH COMICS THATS HOLLYWOOD

The Fox X-Men universe revived a dead character damn near every movie and that had nothing to do with nostalgia, that’s just the way of comic books

For the 5th time comic book movies didn’t invent character revivals or overusing it

I never said they did, but characters not staying dead is literally one of the most prominent tropes of comic books, it’s literally a well-known thing

You can hint at doom without directly showing him . We didn’t even need to know it was RDJ til the movie was out . It’s created discussion though . People are going for the heroes they know more than doom

    “ I never said they did “

You are insisting they are doing this because they are based on comic books . When im saying Hollywood does this and it is at times bad writing .im saying don’t use comic book movie as an excuse for bad writing , nostalgia and tropes . You rather than agree are hours later still saying “ it’s based on a comic book “ to someone who saw raimi spider man in theaters 25 years ago with a straight face

I’m not using it as an excuse for bad writing, there are several MCU projects that are poorly written

I’m saying that the one specific thing that you’re complaining about (characters being revived from the dead) is a staple trope of the comic book genre, it’s never gonna go away as long as comic book adaptations exist

Deaths and revivals in comics get criticized as well. Its not something that has to be adapted
