Now why would Marvel randomly decide to post FF, Thor, and Spider-Man books, with one era of the books being directly tied to Dr. Doom, The Beyonders, and Mephisto?

i always felt that was in the cards more particularly after Tony ‘died’ and the multiverse began and introduced us to variants
could it have been desperation? absolutely. but imagine the Majors s*** didnt happen, he was never ever ever ever ever gonna be the biggest villain for the end of this saga
the plan to me was to build to Majors’ character being the biggest villain since Thanos only to get to Secret Wars and boom.. RDJ’s Doom
i really feel the only thing that shifted was Kang being the focal point of the 5th film to Doom. other than that, i truly believe this was always the play for him to don the role

I don't necessarily think you're wrong. I was always under the impression that Evans and RDJ would be back for Secret Wars. I never thought Doom for RDJ but I knew he would appear again as soon as they announced that they were doing Secret Wars.
I think everything that went wrong with the Multiverse Saga up to this point drove them to move that story up to Doomsday. That harkens back to the failure of Kang on screen and off.

Avengers: Doomsday is said to be pulling heavily from Secret Wars (2015). In that story Thor, or moreso the Thors are Doom's direct special force unit. The Beyonder is also integral to the plot of Secret Wars. Mephisto is a reality/world warping god/demon in the Marvel mythos and was prevalent in Secret Wars II (1985)

now if they wanted to REALLY swerve niggas, it would be this. cause no one would see it coming. i’ve had hope that some way, he’d have a small role or part in Secret Wars but i understand the business/optics
