i think the real reason avatar does so well is james cameron's taste in movies is the exact same as any random normal person who barely watches movies.
he just hits the beats that make people say "yeah that was pretty good" + the visuals obviously
Right, because all film is subjective.
So calling people morons over an opinion makes it sound like films can be objectively bad no?
Moreso don't use audience scores as end all be all? Venom had an audience score of 80% and it sucked ass.
I also don't care much about audience score because frankly, most audiences are morons. IE: superhero movies.
nigga you just said the general consensus from people is it’s underwhelming and not worth rewatching
I showed you the audience thinks the opposite and now you don’t care what the audience thinks

The audience raved about Avatar 1 and those same people can't tell you s*** about the movie....what does that tell you?
What actually attracts the world to Avatar its atmosphere and universal themes
It reaches all demographics
Avatar was a romance
The Way of Water is a family adventure
The audience raved about Avatar 1 and those same people can't tell you s*** about the movie....what does that tell you?
that movie is 13 years old.
i can't tell you details about most movies i haven't seen in over a decade
Interstellar is the one movie I give that "You gotta see it in theaters, it's once in a lifetime" nod to. Mostly because I still remember the story and characters from it.
I need more from my films than just visual spectacle. If that's all I'm getting from Avatar I'm better off just smoking my DMT and watching my Windows Media Player visualizer.
interstellar does not deserve that nod lmaoo. if any movie from the last decade deserves that it’s blade runner 2049 ( which i saw in imax when it came out)
that movie is 13 years old.

Jurassic Park dropped in 1993 and people still remember the characters, plot, and moments from that movie vividly.
Just face it. Avatar is forgettable as f***.

Blade Runner 2049 is an outstanding movie. I like it more than Interstellar. Interstellar is still a very good movie and was memorable

Top 5 theater experience of my life
I won’t be forgetting that anytime soon I’m afraid, no matter how many times you repeat that

I disagree wit you there, interstellar was a must-see. BR2049 was also worth seeing in imax tho
he's a weirdo just ignore
Thought that man was genuinely curious but it turns out he just angry so many people enjoying this movie
Avatar haters are the r/atheism of film
Can't be because people actually know/remember what atheism is about.

Y'all can enjoy ya mid movie lmao people enjoyed the phase 4 Marvel movies and those were mid too.
The audience raved about Avatar 1 and those same people can't tell you s*** about the movie....what does that tell you?
What do you want people to discuss exactly?
Normal people watch movies and move on with their lives. Now the sequel came out and these millions of people are watching it
Fans staying all day on twitter discussing and arguing about Marvel, DC, Star Wars are not the average person
Y'all can enjoy ya mid movie lmao people enjoyed the phase 4 Marvel movies and those were mid too.
I’ll enjoy my peak that’s for sure

i mean sure i forgot most details of avatar until i brushed up before watching way of water. i know what you mean but i can't name a single character from jurrasic park personally and i do love the og.
forgetability is a weird metric for blockbusters imo. it's a rare breed of movie that permeates pop culture and instills permanent places in our memories. major ip's pull it off with showing us the same characters for 10+ years
icons like marty mcfly and neo aren't a fair bar for 95% of movies i think
Can't be because people actually know/remember what atheism is about.
I think you misinterpreted my post

Same with critic scores right?
Maybe, just maybe, You shouldn’t take anyone’s opinion as gospel but maybe use it as like a “hm, maybe I should check this out”

James Cameron haters are in such delusional shambles
