I honestly just don't like it as a story decision. A big theme of the show is the cycle of hatred so eren killing his own mom which might make sense in terms of how he did with the time shenanigans. Doesn't work with me story wise especially as a huge plot point in the show.
Well, the whole dilemma of free will and determinism is actually considered in the story multiple times. Eren in 130 even asks himself if everything that happened was fated to happen no matter what or if it was a consequence of his actions. Isayama wants the reader to ask themselves that, in a broader way too. The attack titan power and eren's use of it to influence grisha also plays into it for example. I think its a compelling part of the story, because it ties to the main character's theme of freedom and its meaning, but i guess that doesnt work for everyone
im gonna ignore a few parts including
the smiling titan part
eren saying he's just an idiot ( f*** outta here no he aint)
I don’t think it necessarily goes against it because past Eren didn’t know what was going on. He doesn’t find out he was the cause until later.
It's not the worst thing tbh like i still think eren is a great character i just think it would've been better if it was just a natural thing that happened.
End of S1 his Titan changes form into a “fire Titan” with blue eyes
Sometimes his eyes are blue, sometimes they are green
I guess it’s no significance to that, but definitely different
S1 has some anime original stuff that doesnt have any deeper meaning, or was added by isayama, like the flash forward in eren's dream which is not present in the manga and actually created a problem in the anime that mappa had to fix later
Slept on it, and I actually think as f***ed as the ending is… it’s the most “realistic”. Usually in life, things aren’t that dense at all. It could be a very simple reason that’s hidden behind mystery. Once that mystery gets unfolded, it’s never the same intensity. Eren is just a guy, an idiot like he says.
Still a couple things that make me question:
I always thought Mikasa had some hidden power. From the “lost girls” OVA, to the scarf being so significant. I truly believed SHE was the God of the world and had Eren (and everybody else) trapped in time.
Eren’s Titan changes form a couple of times pre-Warhammer. Wtf was that about?
Yelena… is there nothing more to her than being a lost Zeke sympathizer?
What was the point of making Historia a big plot point with a huge let down?
What’s with the baby in red at the end? What’s the significance there?
Is Eren a bird?
Eren is most likely a bird.
Historia was just a plan before zeke came in.
Yelena lost everything when Zeke died. That's about it

Lol that “form” was just anime flair. It never happened in the manga.

Ah I see thanks for clearing that up

That was just him being self deprecating like in the Reiss cave. I don’t think he actually feels like an idiot for doing what he did because of what the outcome came to be for his friends.
Crine my spoiler didn't work but idk if we are still supposed to put em
anw SPOILER I enjoyed that scene with pieck constantly getting out of her titan and transforming like 3-4 times
Glad they fixed the problematic ending lol It was dark the way they changed it but the boys in hell together
Also those who sided with Eren and the jagerists in real life, genocide is never the answer and Eren had a choice.
Hell is where Eren and others deserve to fight forever 😍

Yes he is. Have you not seen all the f***s up he's done from season 1-3. Then he magically glows up in part 4? That was all founding titan, ymir, and his future putting in all the work to help him lead
Well im seeing a lot of positive impressions from anime onlies online, one could argue that the were it not for the changes in dialogue opinions would be more split, but still, its a lot more positive than when 139 released
I will say, I think the anime made it more clear that Eren was a selfish a****** that liked the attention from Mikasa rather than actually "loved her" with how he said "I want her pining after me for at least 10 years" It plays into the parallel with Mikasa and Ymir while also explaining why Eren never showed interest in her throughout the series. He just liked how she revolved around him. Just like how King Fritz treated Ymir (obviously not as extreme but you get the point). Ymir was inspired by Mikasa freeing herself from that parasitic love to release the curse. At least, that's my interpretation. Wish this was more fleshed out but I think I get what he was going for

niggas who sided with Eren are potential school shooters
the fact that the marleyans STILL wanted to kill the Eldians after is crazy
The rumbling is definitely justifiable in AoT imo

If he truly didn't care for her in some sort of way he would have not shown her ideal version of the world right before he left.

That's the only flaw in this war. The mangaka never showed any sizeable amount marlyeans who didn't want to kill Eldians.
The manga wants to say genocide is bad. Inside the story it seems like it was the only choice

I didn't mean that. Obviously Eren cares about her but I don't think he loved her in that way. He did the mature thing and gave her that vision so that she could move on from him, which she does end up doing as we see with her husband (Jean??? lol) and children in the future

That wasn’t necessarily Marley, could’ve been any group of people that survived in the 20%. It affected the entire world not just Marley.
