Part 1 wouldnt have looked as good if they rushed it all out so its understandable. The fault lies mostly on kodansha and pony canyon, the production committee, requesting this season to be called final season since 2019 when the anime was still made by the previous studio so yeah, they couldnt do much about it but stretch the "final season" this much, especially since working on aot has always been very difficult and covid made it worse
