This episode made me realize in retrospect how stupid i was in blindly believing that grisha would kill kids considering he had two himself he loved and his profession
Crying at how zeke was shocked that this nigga eren was catching bodies at 9 years old.
I never imagined isayama had the story this much figured out since 2009, i think this chapter was released in 2019 (?) so it took him 10 years to come full circle, and in this case it wasnt clever retconning like oda usually does, but actually fully thought out. Crazy stuff, im witnessing a classic that will live on for a long ass time, this is our generation devilman

Zeke entered these memories tryna show eren his truth and left being more traumatized and confused instead
So happy with how they did this, as it was one of the moments I hoped would be executed well.
The music, the tension, the facial expressions, everything was perfect.
The ending song has been ingrained in my mind for a while and its staying there rent f***ing free. I only have this song, 2010 earl sweatshirt and meta angel fka twigs in my head recently s***
Its dope how coincidentally 2 days ago i rewatched funnily enough episode 1 because i love it so much, but unfortunately i didnt pay attention too much to where grisha was watching and if he was watching anything because i couldve never guessed this was such an important detail so ill have to rewatch another time now
The only other mangaka who has played with my emotions and thrown them in the trash is miura, this is absurd
R.I.P

Read an article about ep 78 review bombing on imdb between breaking bad stans and aot stans and this breaking bad review is sending me

Edit: actually this dude is hating on aot too so now i dont understand what this review is talking about which is even funnier to me
Zeke heard what frieda was saying and said "dam i f*** with this b****" that was so extra he had no reason to say that
Episode 80, "From you, 2000 years ago".
I knew this was a chapter name, but i cant even begin to imagine what this episode will be about, all i know is this title already makes me fly with my imagination, i was always confused by that episode 1 title, in a good way, it felt so random because throughout all these years there was nothing that i could've connected it with so it always remained this great mistery in my head that has always stayed with me. I also find it pretty poetic, so i cant wait to finally get an answer next week

I'll say this tho - a LOT of ppl (even those who have read the manga) misinterpet Eren as a character.
This specific episode laid it out as plainly as possible - Eren should NOT be glorified by anyone.
I can tell you're a very attentive person and you're absolutely right, this is a story which will keep rewarding the audience even after it concludes.
I HOPE the show sticks to the manga ending, because, in retrospect, what Isayama was able to convey was nothing short of amazing.

I want to wait for the ending to form a complete opinion on eren, but from what ive seen i can tell that despite having motives i agree with i find it hard to fully root for him, which is a leitmotif im seeing more and more with a lot of aot characters in this season. Cant wait to finish it all!

Yeah, I feel you. But that's the thing tho - his motives aren't even fully acknowledged by the audience even when Eren himself explicitely tells us what they are. That is the true genius of how Isayama warps our perception of the protagonist.
