They literally showed us the ending of AoT in the first minute of the first episode, Eren’s head under that tree with Mikasa coming to be with him.

I think you can see the rest of his body laying down. But it's close

Bro, you trippin if you don’t think this is yet another foreshadowing situation from Isayama.

Being like “oh, you can kinda make out a faint outline of his legs” doesn’t change the fact that the prominent things are Mikasa by the tree with Eren’s head sticking out at the base of the tree.

This is also where the manga and the anime deviate. In the manga, Eren is laid up against the true, not under it and asks Mikasa "when did your hair get so long?" and that he had a "long dream" (we can see part of that dream with his eyes half open and Mikasa saying to him "See you later Eren". In the anime, he asks her "what are you doing here?" and the only images of a dream you can see are multiple shots of chaos/titan rampage/etc.

The anime’s not deviating from the manga. At some point during this run of episodes we’ll probably see the full manga dream sequence.

The vast majority of the Japanese public loved the ending. And they’re the ones that MAPPA are ultimately working for here. It’s just a very small vocal majority overseas that can’t get over Eren not being 100% sigma male.

It def changed my perspective on Eren in some capacity, and cemented some feelings. And yeah Isayama is a fantastic writer and his work will age amazingly.
