Explaining the origins of the Titans is so much better than just “oh here’s a happy ending for the crew” because it’s better to tie up all loose ends to the story. Rather than leave people with the eternal question “where the f\*\*\* did they even come from?”
And honestly, does it even matter what caused the Titans? ANYTHING would sound insane, but this sounds like the most reasonable explanation I can think of even if it’s cliched. Also adds a entirely new layer to the meta of attack on Titan and everything can be observed entirely different
Even wit there only being two chapters left I can think of a few big brained plays yams could do to subvert the current trajectory. It’s not really worth going crazy before we see where it ends.
However if all goes predictably, this last arc will feel like yams writing surrendered a bit or he was just done with the material. Which is fair, I’ve had more enjoyment out of this than I paid for. Not everything sticks the landing. I’m still gonna be on some bs in a spoiler thread tho..

I kinda like fables where something unexplainable happens but if the explanation serves the story that’s cool too.

Honestly, with 2 chapters left after this, there’s still a lot of room left for absolutely anything to happen so I’m not holding my breath that anything in this chapter matters too much tbh

The origin of the titans remaining a mystery is a much more interesting concept to me. The not-knowing adds a layer of other-worldliness and larger-than-life aspect to it.
A good comparison is the force in star wars. When they tried to explain it (which no one asked for) they ruined some of the appeal

Tbh, not explaining it is so lovecraftian at its core, considering the entire concept of his cosmic entities is they literally cannot be explained which is why almost all adaptations of his works fail miserably. So I don't mind this outcome
You wanna know something bone-chilling I realized? The main character of this story is, without a doubt, Ymir.
When all is said & done, you’ll realize that Eren was just a means to an end for their story.

Just hope it's not as bad as midichlorians.
I have faith in the remaining chapters but man..... more wouldn't hurt judging by what's going on.

You’re wrong, plain & simple. This is not a “Lovecraftian” philosophical tale, where we’ll be satisfied not knowing. It’s a political genocidal war epic with elements of scientific paranormality.
FYI, Isayama does explain it in the next manga chapter. Too bad.
Y'all openly discussing leaks in here smh

Yes the main character is the one with zero dialogue, zero agency, and is a plot device to exonerate Yams from having to be explain or write a quality story

How the f*** am I wrong for having a personal preference?

When all is said & done in the plot, we’ll see. Guarantee you the last panel will be referenced to Ymir. Sure, Eren will be part of it, but it’ll be her who’s truly free

Oh my bad, thought you were calling the plot. I love cosmic horror too actually, big fan of it. Just don’t see how it could be a possibility given the leaks

All good, man. I was like "bruh is acting so condescending for no reason"

No that’s not me sorry
I never go out of my way to be edgy or mean, I pride myself in Canadian politeness
i can see how I structured my s*** to seem condescending though
Isayamas got us all on edge
