Yup, cant imagine how much he tortured himself to create this masterpiece but im glad he didnt end up like HxH and Berserk creators getting sick just to finish it. he had no idea himself it'd even be as big, dude just wanted to make a series where the MC was a self insert of him and base it off some towns he enjoyed seeing growing up then it popped off and he had to start working over time, scrapped endings, plotpoints, all to flesh this s*** out into what it is today. Underappreicated as a creator for sure

ElectricIt's not that other studios didn't want to do it it's the timetable the directors set. They wanted the anime and the manga to end around the same time to boost sales for both.
This is hands down the most action packed season, and for a series like this studios would want to take their time (more than a year).
Look how much s*** Mappa is getting, even though they've handled it excellently with the time they were given imo
Edit: Also apparently other studios asked for more pay to do it, Mappa was the only one willing to take what they offered. They also got a seat on the board of directors which means they get more of the profits.

One Piece is 950 episodes in and 1000 chapters in and it hasn’t even hit its peak yet
People would have a point if it was not good but it’s literally getting better and better lol
If you knew how wide and vast the world was
