I don't understand the S3 Part 1 slander. It may be slower but I feel like it's one of the best arcs in the anime still. That s*** was amazing and I love that Levi and Historia played the leading roles.

Cut a couple too many corners in the anime, remember it being more fleshed out in the manga, think they removed a chunk of the story as well.

S3 P2 is amazing but I think S4 might be even better tbh

I also agree s3 p1 was the weakest even though it does have some great aspects (the Levi vs Kenny sequence, Historia's whole arc) but it also has moments that feel way too much of a calm before the storm

S4's first 4 eps do such a better job at capturing the calm before the storm in comparison

Loved ep 6 & 7, but anybody feel like they went by slowly? Like how many more episodes till the War on Paradis arc starts?

pretty sure that starts around episode 10\. If the season/first part ends on episode 16 like what was rumored then it’ll end on a cliffhanger after Eren gets shot right before the rumbling begins

I’m rewatching rn and part one is amazing . The whole human vs human / uprising concept was well executed and exciting

I'm not sure about whether it was better in the manga, but I really enjoyed the whole Uprising arc. During it, the world of AoT felt more lived in than it ever had up to that point imo.

Random background characters you saw for like 3 seconds on screen coming back and having whole fulfilling arcs, the political intrigue, the character development.

All of it was awesome. Although it may look weak next to how incredible S3 Part 2 was, I have to say Uprising marked a turning point for me. It's where AoT elevated imo.

It also proved beyond doubt that the series has RANGE. That they didn't need to rely on Eren, Mikasa, and Armin to lead the show because the high quality of the character writing extends to the supporting cast as well. Even though they aren't fighting Titans, you're drawn in because the show has multiple strengths. Just extremely well done political drama

They did but it was at the request of the author himself as he thought the pacing would be off and the action not evenly distributed. You could argue it’s not as impactful but it flows great and not noticeable.
