Rt. I was not expecting to sympathize with Pieck, Reiner, Annie, Zeke, Gabi and all them going into S4\. I was expecting a couple chapters in Marley just to get an idea of the other side's perspective and little else.

A lot of anime try to play that "we're both sides of the same coin." s***, but AoT commits to it all the way. Who you see as the villain depends entirely on whose pov you're following.

It's fun to theorize it being almost like a bootstrap paradox just based on what we know so far. The story is very unique and could go elsewhere still, though.

Its kind of unfair since seasons 3 and 4 in terms of plot are much more compelling (i still love all the seasons), thats why i basically only put s3 part 2 and s4 episodes.
