Good for them for beating out Paramount. White House will try their hardest against this but I bet it’s a bluff

I don’t think this will be that bad in the end. Definitely not as bad as Ellisons owning it

As long as they keep the movies in theaters and releases physical dvds still…

I feel like they’d keep on to HBO Max for a bit at least like Hulu did.

This deal will also take a long, long time to finalize, especially if White House wants a fight

So what’s gonna happen with the streaming service s*** lol

  • Dec 5, 2025

Might do damage but Hollywoods in need of a change. Don’t have much sympathy for it. Whether it implodes or reforms for the better I feel like Netflix now seizing a major studio is a huge signal

Streaming wars were already cracking and merging due to their dominance and now they’re buying a competitor

like yandhi said i think it'll be a disney plus hulu type situation for awhile before maybe a merger happens

It helps we’re at the time Netflix is expanding its commitment to theaters and becoming comfortable with longer runs than it used to give

By gaining a Hollywood studio they’d be inheriting relationships and infrastructure they never had before. Maybe they’ll see more of a light

Apps will probably merge eventually but it’s gonna take years for WB to be integrated into Netflix. Hulu and Disney+ aren’t even fully merged yet. They still require separate subscriptions unless you bundle

  • think it would be the smartest move to keep both services separate but offer a bundle with both. light cable, more profit

I do think Netflix might want to gain more respect in the industry. Acquiring WB and using them as a theatrical arm may be the trick. The TV and streaming side is a whole other ball game that I think teeters on Monopoly but isn’t as massive as Disney/Fox. Fox had been around for 70+ years while Netflix as a studio has only been around for what 15? So their library isn’t as historic, but they output so much stuff that it is DEEP.
