When I think of artists like Todd Solondz that make truly unique thought provoking movies on shoestring budgets that before AI and after AI can't get funded it becomes crystal clear that the facade of human artistry meaning something under capitalism is and always will be simply that, so on that level I will continue to support and champion artists like that (they'll continue to exist God willing) and the concerns of things like AI will remain in another realm billions of dollars away where it will live in a shallow grave with cryptocurrency and other pointless capitalist bureaucratic bullshit 🙏

AI voices still cant make a ye voice without him having a “russian” accent.

The thing within all humans is our unpredictability. It’s why there’s no successful AI of southern rappers (that dont heavily rely on autotune) because of the heavy accents we got that AI just never gon really be able to have down to a T.

you have to separate the conversation then because we can’t discuss visual art and audio as those are to entirely different types of AI. visual AI, as you said, has tools being created to be detected. music generative AI will rarely generate passable work at the same rate you could as a human due to the inputs

Within the realm of music, I agree

but currently we are seeing AI visual art be validated with AI artists finding success online or even recently being showcased in museums.

I don’t think “well, it can’t do it yet” is a gonna defense, especially when we got people right now trying to normalize it.

I follow an ass of those pages and you can always tell when its AI, its like uncanny valley look to it + the fingers words and details are always messed up. Its pretty easy to tell when something is AI and its so many logistical reasons why someone cant just fake the funk as an artist who relying on ai art lol

AI can already generate synth sounds based off a prompt so the technology to generate a specific timbre exists in that sense.

You can tell it’s not actually Ye because you’re going into it knowing that it’s AI but when this song dropped there was a real debate about whether it was real.

Those rappers you named aren’t as popular with the demographic that is tinkering around with training these ai voice models for artists. If someone wanted to train a Scarface AI model they easily could.
