Not every idea needs to hit the screen in one movie G
Beau you could maybe argue but Eddington not even a little bit. What a mess of a film.
even if i didn't like him, id still like him, cause he switches it up
Doesn’t play it safe

Beau and eddington both great

We didn’t need that entire 3rd act of town siege. Teased the agitators then they finally show up after being more or less an afterthought for 40 -50 mins and they laid siege on the city lmao then JP goes Rambo and kills almost all of them? It felt like a legit dream sequence it was so random and unnecessary atp I was already ready for the film to end, then it went on for another half hour ish.
The Austin Butler stuff also crammed in. I get what he was going for with a lot of the movie but a restrained focused approach to the like 4 or 5 plot points/themes going on would have worked better imo. You don’t need to throw every single idea you have into the movie.
Make a Covid movie, make a cult movie, make a town under fake siege movie, make a family drama, make a film about big tech taking over small towns with data centers, make a film about racial tensions during covid in a small town, make a movie about a man’s jealousy and need to feel big in that small town. You don’t need to do all of the above at once. It’s messy, overindulgent and personally didn’t work for me.
