This is a masterpiece. I think it's his best film yet.
it’s hard for me to put it above midsommar but it’s definitely #2 behind that
The one criticism I do agree with is that Butler is the only character where it doesn't feel like he's an archetype of someone who exists in the world, he feels like a dated Manson type of character

Right now I'm feeling
1. Hereditary
2. Eddington
3. Midsummer
4. Beau
They're all close though, I could interchange them easily
that wasn’t mentioned. Bummer you didn’t enjoy the movie.
With an Ari Aster movie you should always assume there's nobody else in the theater
Aster might always be a director who's gonna be sweating in the editing room and I'm totally fine with that.
He's interested in making "Swiss Watch" movies, much like Peele is. Even if he's being indulgent, he's never being unintentional.

He struck me as a total QAnon type of guy, conspiracy podcast freak

absolutely, waste of time and dampened the pace of it - not even a real point to it either
He struck me as a total QAnon type of guy, conspiracy podcast freak
Are QAnon guys that hot tho?
i enjoyed the first hour and a bit the most tbh
yeah Pedro and Joaquin are just really entertaining foes
The Firework standoff is so good
yeah get rid of Stone and Butler and this would be a way better movie
honestly the only thing that worked for me aside from some funny moments in the first act
Felt like Under the Silver Lake mixed with A Serious Man and No Country for Old Men. Felt like what I imagine the new PTA will be like.
honestly first part up to through the first austin butler meeting had me thinking id be hooked... but right after that it sort of lost the narrative plot for me and got too goofy
i think the places where the film was trying to be clever didnt actually feel clever at all to me (e.g. the oo both sides are silly, oo hallucination/blurred reality due to paranoia, etc ). it was still entertaining after and had some fun isolated moments but overall felt sorta shallower than the first part of the film prepped me for
i did like the use of social media throughout, reminds me of seed of the sacred fig. some of the movie reminded me of the joker, parts of it once upon a time in hollywood, parts of it civil war, parts of it mickey 17.... but i felt those films are stronger

I have no idea what movie I watched instead
