I still feel like this man has so much more to offer us, and it's surprises the whole career.
What were your thoughts on midsommar? I recently rewatched it
I feel like I'm always gonna be interested in what this guy makes but I haven't loved any of his stuff the way others do
every Ari directed s***scene I've seen so far is something I wish I could unwatch
Lmaooooooooo
wdym his poor things? these two movies are completely different from each other

Oh I thought upon announcement he said it’d be a western so I was confused/intrigued on how he’d weave that into the pandemic
Yeah it was announced as a contemporary western

In the same boat. I kinda think this guys a hack but I’ll still check for him. Hereditary was good at least
Glad to see him switching up from the quiet mysterious type
People who didn’t see the vision after Dune 2 are def gonna see it after this one, dude has serious range and is one of the best actors in Hollywood rn. There’s a reason so many high-profile filmmakers wanna work with him
I’m in but me personally I think waiting at least 10 years is the better move for doing something based round the pandemic.
Teaser looks tough though.
And I been one of the few who’s always said Aster >>>>>>>> the guy who did the new Dracula movie
that new Dracula movie >>> Aster's life
and I fw Aster

I like Butler. I liked him since Hollywood, so I’m definitely intrigued by the way he came across in this teaser

Damn lol I strongly disliked it. But I know I’m in the minority with that opinion

I think midsommar is slightly messy in the sense that the subplots for the friends feel a little extra (don't think i've seen the extended cut, if that makes much of a difference). But the experience of watching it is so glorious that it's still a five star masterpiece for me.
I just love the way Aster approaches tone. The scene where all the women are mirroring Florence's hyperventilating is such a genius way to show being in a cult... and it's also absurdly funny. The ending is such a moment of catharsis, but it's also f***ing evil. One of the best endings of the last 10 years, for sure.

Hasn't aged super well for me, but it sure looks good.

Facts it looks pretty, technically.

Completely agreed, I feel like it's one of those films you gotta watch twice cause I found myself noticing a lot more details and really started to love it a lot more. So true about the ending man, what makes it even crazier is when you realise dani and christian don't say a single word for like the last 23 ish minutes
gotta give him major props for creating such horror in broad daylight too
