in the instances where you have a couple who have been an item since their teenage years and have grown into adulthood with someone by that side, and now that system has disintegrated and people don't know where to turn. they have my sympathies.
i feel that's why it's important for individuals to have time as a single entity to know how to maneuver through life; it conjures self-reliance and it has the tendency to assist with increasing your understanding of yourself, what you want, and where you wish to go.
the former is just stupidity; they are unable to think outside of the parameters of the status-quo and they don't question anything ever because (under some woefully-mixed obtuseness) fitting in is the highest virtue to a pathetic dumb f***. my sister is like this and that's why she is neatly sorted in the non-canon folder of my blood relations.
