Shayne Oliver and I are releasing our debut album as WENCH.
Greatest Hits '88 - '16 will be streamed live on @nts between 6 PM and 8 PM BST this Friday, August 12th. The final 13 tracks, which cover themes such as anger, s***and transness, were whittled down from more than 50, written across a five-year period.
Shayne and I met in the mid-'00s at influential New York party GHE20G0TH1K. WENCH was conceived in myChinatown apartment, before releasing two mixtapes, TRILLTAPE and LANYARD, in 2012. Several years later, we released videos for two more tracks, Sick and Elmo. But those that know will be glad to hear we finally think the world is ready for the album.
WENCH will celebrate the release of Greatest Hits '88 - '16 with a party at New York club Paragon, August 11th. Find the full details in the event listing there. I won’t be able to attend because I need to rest and introvert from a difficult time- but I’ll be there in spirit, I know it’s going to be so much fun. I’ll live the evening vicariously through Shayne. Show my doll all the love you can muster!
