Haha yeah, that's what I was expecting as well. Good to see that there's way more to it.
Going off on a tangent, Bungie seeing this ARC-update news and probably hoping it turns out underwhelming because the Server Slam for their own extraction game happens in the same week of the new ARC update (not to mention Resident Evil Requiem dropping around the same time)
Spawned into SpacePort cause I had a key and crossed paths with a dude along the way and killed him pretty easy w my Renegade IV. Dude had an absolute meltdown in prox chat
had a Toro IV, Osprey Blueprint, epic augment, and a f*** ton of heals
People like you have killed this game.
Game is dead because of you.
Why troll when players in this very thread have not even been able to upgrade scrappy past level 2.
Go play cod or fortnight man let players loot and extract. I yell im friendly to players whenever I see them, they run past me and then proceed to shoot me in the back call me slurs.

As a friendly PVE player I agree that PVP:ers/rats can kill the vibe but fortunately I rarely end up in those lobbies unless I kill somebody (which I only do in self-defence if they attack me first).
I do realise that players are allowed to play the game as rats if they want but I think it's whack because it strips away the core aspects of the game (destroying the main threat which is the ARC, looting and gathering resources, doing quests and trials) and turns it into just another PVP shooter.
In my lobbies we tend to help each other bring down ARC, do quests, revive downed players, give each other free stuff (see you don't have to fight over all the loot. You can just ask if you need something in my lobbies). Even at times when I haven't had a defibrillator on me I've patched up knocked down raiders with bandages and walked them all the way to the extract while fending off ARC's just so they can make it home alive with their loot or trial scores in tact.
Helping raiders is, in my opinion, way more satisfying than randomly killing them over some loot that you will inevitably lose to another rat in the same match or the next, OR just keep stored in your stash forever because you're too afraid to lose it in a match.

Will admit that I've gotten frustrated playing this game because someone decided to kill me unprovoked
But y'all tripping, that risk/element of not knowing who to trust is exactly what separates this from everything else
"just another PvP shooter" - everyone always being friendly and working together to take down ARC and loot doesn't sound like much fun either

I agree that some of that tension and uncertainty about who to trust is part of the game and one of the things that makes it special and adds some tension to every encounter. Even in my PvE lobbies I can't always trust everyone.
The main issue with PvE vs PvP is that PvE players are always going to be at a disadvantage against lurking PvP players/rats, so the PvE players have their experience ruined way more often.
PvP players on the other hand play aggressive and know what they are in for and deserve every bit of aggressiveness and backstabbing that they encounter because that's what they themselves do. PvE players who want to enjoy other aspects of the game will have a much harder time doing so without some rat killing them over some loot that the rat himself will inevitably lose a short while later.
Fortunately I think they've done a decent job with the matchmaking which tends to put you in lobbies with players of similar tendencies.
ARC needs rats for the game to be interesting, as much as it sucks to be on the receiving end of it.
Iāve played the majority of my raids in PvE lobbies and it can feel like lowkey brainrot sometimes just looting and extracting over & over while nothing interesting happens (youāre never gonna see me shooting someone FIRST though cus I just canāt do it).
But in PvE lobbies, you can engage in co-op more frequently and thatās where I see the real value in it. Thatās when memorable moments are created
I honestly think the lobby sorting system is still doing its job very well. My brief forays into the PvP lobbies only make me appreciate my usual PvE lobbies more. Thereās also a decent chance Marathon sucks up a fair amount of the Raiders who want more a more PvP focused experience. Iād rather Embark put their resources towards remaking the quest system.

You nailed it with the first paragraph. Sucks when you go through it but that's also the magic of this game

How nice of Embark to let us get used to the sounds of the new ARC threat in preparation for the trauma we bout to endure

Whatever this threat is...DON'T SHOOT
Kinda stopped taking this s*** seriously and started trolling people, much more fun

!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPaKRV76TlcSlightly disappointing that the new ARC enemies are just variations of existing archetypes, as opposed to the Shredder, which felt brand-new
But weāll see how they behave
And thereās gonna be another new ARC threat next month anyway so seems silly to express dissatisfaction lol

New Arc
Bruh Iāve been dying so much lately

New Arc
Meh, another flying a****** and another rolling a******. Im sure itd take them awhile to make something new, but id rather have something that isnt a wasp, ball, or crab/spider.
Bruh did they nerf the Anvil speed?
It feels slower and I'm using an Anvil IV.
Edit: Weird, it feels normal at times but at other times it feels slower. Might be affected by the weather condition (only tried it on the Hurricane map condition so far).

Anvilās not mentioned in the new patch notes: arcraiders.com/news/shrouded-sky-patch-notes-1-17-0

Man it wouldāve been really unfortunate for a certain game if Embark never moved updates from Thursdays to Tuesdays
If they keep nerfing s*** im done with this game.
I can understand making the Wolfpack a little harder to craft but rocketeer drivers is just kicking players in the d***.
Like they dont have 7 guns that they could buff? The balancing in this game is absolutely garbage.
