M3 is a totally unnecessary upgrade right now but why not?

  • Oct 24, 2023

They’ve gotta drop the base 13-inch MBP from the lineup after the event…

Been hearing that Amazon refreshed is also sending refurbished 14 in m1 pros straight from without telling. If you end up getting a unit that wasn’t that you can send it back

They’re like 1100 on there base model

Almost pulled the trigger on a new 15Pro.

I just don't want to have to buy:

    • A new case
    • New cords
    • New charging block
    • New screen protector

    that was always the plan

before the M1 they were using Intel who missed so many dates it delayed the entire MacBook lineup from getting regular upgrades

now Apple makes the chips with TSMC who has been on schedule for over a decade

it's good though, last Gen stuff like the M1/M2 go down in price on used/refurb sites

and if you buy something new your always getting the latest thing, with the Intel models you'd sometimes get parts that were years old but the price would still be the same

my case from my 2013 MBP fits the M1 perfect

they come with a charging brick though and you can use any USB C cable if you need an extra

charges fine on my regular Smartphone Fast Charger also

basically just use the fancy breakaway cable when I bring my MacBook somewhere away from my desk

Doesn't seem like a sustainable or sound plan
