iPad Air still not 120hz or above 256GB, still sticking with my 2017 500GB iPad Pro
With my A10X chip
I really, really wish they would bring 120 Hz to all devices and not relegate it to being a 'Pro' feature
it's hard to know for sure but I think there will be some issues with software & probably some different mac thunderbolt accessories
it will depend though a lot of devs already are working closely with apple to solve these issues before launch
any software that isn't moved away from Intel will still run via a layer of code that translates it but those apps will probably have some bugs and run slower but all the major apps are going to be moved over to Apple chips by launch
if you have some apps you need that aren't as popular though that could be a problem
I'm personally going to wait and see how the roll out goes with these machines but I also have Ableton & 140 VSTs I use all the time I can't have breaking.. if your just going to be doing web browsing and some other basic things I wouldn't even worry about it tbh
the benefits mainly are battery life, the battery life should be 2x-5x
and performance/speed should destroy the overheating outdated intel chips in the macbooks & imacs
My macbook pros get so f***ing hot. Like it makes my room 10 degrees warmer and I had to start using a magic keyboard cause my hands get so hot and sweaty. Really hope the new chips improve the overheating
Wow it can type
Dope
Lol it's an incredibly intricate piece of tech / engineering. 9to5mac.com/2020/05/11/magic-keyboard-ipad-pro-ifixit-xray-teardown
Even iFixit says "There’s more going on inside this keyboard accessory than there is in many laptops.”
If you ever felt or used one you'd understand why it costs that much tbh

they should be better with cooling, I imagine the macbook pro will use 20%-25% of the total power the current ones use so the heat output of the chip will be much lower and it will be able to be cooled easily
yeah I have issues with my macbook pro 2017, it can never hold a high clock speed for more than a few minutes so 4k rendering workloads always take forever
also I get pops in my audio tracks from clockspeed and voltage always plummeting
can't wait to upgrade tbh

if they used 1/5 power they would get 5x battery life. that's a little over-optimistic
worth upgrading to ios14 for 8 users or wait till bugs are fixed?
it's been a pretty stable set of betas. by now you're good

Try this lol https://blog.macsales.com/61253-power-your-macbook-pro-from-the-right-side/
Damn I thought I’d read something like this but I forgot about it. I always charge from the left side. Gonna try this

they won’t get 5x the battery though cause apple will massively cut down the battery size imo but 5nm arm based chips draw way less power than 14nm intel chips
it should at least be 35% of the power draw, AMD 7nm TSMC chips use almost half the power of Intel 14nm chips and TSMCs 5nm is 30%+ better than their 7nm and Apple’s arm based chips are always far better than AMDs when it comes to power usage
$749 for 256GB
what kinda price jump is that?
Yea think Imma grab the Air when it drops. Looking at all the specs compared to the pro, it's things that I don't really care for wouldn't have put to much use. Biggest thing is the 120hz display but other than my laptop, nothing I use daily even has 120hz so I even that ain't much to me.
It'll primarily function as my manga reader
so what are the most noticeable updates of iOS14?
Thinking about getting an Apple Watch. Should I get the series 6 or start with the SE?
Thinking about getting an Apple Watch. Should I get the series 6 or start with the SE?
depends on the budget
if you got the money the series 6, if you don’t, the SE. the SE seems to be as good as the series 3 & 4 which is good enough
what will the prices be on the new iphone ? i’ve been needing to upgrade and wanna see if i should get that or a older model
