If that’s the case just get the new Air unless you want that 12.9” screen. At that point just look for an older model
I want a mac but just can't justify why i'd use it lol
Just get a base iMac or MacBook Air. Them s***s are GOAT

Oh, yeah lol. I went through the same process. I run an iPad Pro + MacBook Pro setup, and really had no tangible, justifiable need for the iMac. Problem was it just invoked so much nostalgia - iMac G3 was the first computer I ever used as a kid and the first Mac I owned was an aluminum iMac back in 2008. And I looooooooveeee the design and pretty much everything about the new ones.
It would make way more sense for me to just have a monitor in my office that I can dock my MBP into, but I’ve had poor experiences with the ability of 3rd-party monitors to integrate into the Mac experience, and Apple’s rumored consumer monitor isn’t out yet (a la modern Thunderbolt Display). I also love the all-in-one aspect of the iMac, so I got one. I don’t plan to have it in my actively upgraded roster of tech but rather I’m going to let it age and hopefully use it for the next 10 years, or more. I recently bought a house and set up a sweet office that’s kind of themed in green so this new green iMac looks absolutely mint there, no pun intended.

2021 didn't really make a difference with colors if you using it for digital painting. not sure if they added more layers to use in procreate with larger canvases
What are they expected to show on Monday?
New macOS
New iOS
New iPadOS
New tvOS
New watchOS
New MacBook Pros
If the MacBook Pro 14 inch has a mini LED I’m copping
But does anyone here have a 16 inch? Is it too big?

I’m gonna give you a long-winded and detailed answer because that’s what I do
I have a 15” from 2016 (well I did until I just traded it in) and it is definitely the perfect size. Right at 4lb which isn’t too heavy. I had the 15” 2012 and 2015 models as well. Great size and they use the extra surface area for incredible speakers. MacOS really has room to breathe on 15”+, I have used 13” MBPs and I really feel like it’s a little small and cramped - IMO the extra size and weight are well worth it to move up to the larger size. The one caveat would be if you’re bringing it with you everywhere all the time; in that case you might want to have something that prioritizes portability. Personally I have an iPad for lighter weight and more mobile tasks
I haven’t owned the new 16” yet (I plan on getting the 2021) but I do hope that it gets back down to 4lbs. Right now they’re at 4.3lbs and I’ve held it in stores and tbh it feels heavy. Just a little bit over the threshold of how much I’d like a laptop to weigh. We know based on the regulatory listings that the battery has been trimmed down a bit so hopefully that translates to lighter weight. If it stays at 4.3lbs and continues to cost $600 more than the new 14” then I may consider the 14”
