Solved it!

It’s a cable speed issue it seems. So if it’s wired CarPlay or you’re using a dongle for wireless, make sure you’re using a cable with high transfer speeds

Them first couple weeks of iOS7 were so bad

I kind of want to use this phone without a case but that's too risky so I bought a Spigen Clear case, hated the feel of it in hand

Switched from 15P to 17PM, first time using a plus sized phone and I am loving it so far

the extra screen real estate is much appreciated and I’m using it caseless (feels very stable in hand, I found the 15 to be slippery) so it’s slightly lighter than my old phone + case. gonna try to hold onto this one for the next 4-5 years at least
