I’ve helped moved a lot of friends out lol.
You should’ve asked them to just empty the contents of a heavy dresser (clothes are easy as hell), and then remove the drawers so it’s lighter in weight at least.
They probably would’ve been more than able to do so, especially given the number of stairs it has to go down and the huge potential to f*** that up.
Idk man.
This is common sense honestly
Ive had movers n painters of my house ask me to move something or if we can adjust something for the work to be easier.
By either moving personal things out of something and into another, fragile things etc.
If a job dude would tell me, which they have, "ay this job would be easier/safer (for the worker and/or objects) if we do it this way" i comply lol.
Theres so many ways this could have been handled.
Or tell them its a job thag requires more than one guy so i need to reschedule or get some help.
You took the quote which means you think you can handle the job adequately, and they SHOWED you the house and objects beforehand.
Its your fault and on you, and even more wild you just dipped instead of telling them the situation needs more than what it is right now.
Of course people dont expect you to f*** their s*** up, thats part of why youre being paid and YOURE suppose to know how to the job in the best possible way and speak up if theirs an issue or something different to do.
This s*** is wild.
And invading niggas personal spaces. Do they even mnow you take pics of their place? I k ow for damn sure they dont know youre posting it.
And i know i would not hire you myself as a homeowner if I KNEW you take pics. Not only of basic things, but of entire rooms and the entire front. Hell nah.
Thus s*** all the way crazy.
Lmao I wasn’t gone respond but f*** it.
You ain’t a homeowner and as a privately contracted worker you don’t have a say on what I do with my phone. I take pictures so just in case a customer complains and tries to say I ain’t finish the job or something.
They don’t know I took pictures because I do it in private and it’s not any of their business for them to know what I got in my phone.
Also, they didn’t tell me about packing their belongings or moving furniture with clothes still in it, who does that? You trying to say I’m weird for pictures yet you don’t understand common courtesy not to annoy or harass a mover who’s trying to make your move easy. The dresser was too heavy, they were complaining, and so I offered the best solution by leaving.
You should have a team of at least a few mfs assembled, how were you not prepared for likelihood of moving furniture that would be too heavy for one regular guy?
I texted my supervisor and told him they added on furniture that they didn’t notify me of prior to the job. Yes I’m lying but f*** it.

Maybe i would have asked if they weren’t trying to watch my every little move and spectate. If you ain’t helping gtf out the way

Well this is why communication is super important going into these jobs, and that goes for both sides.
Any time I've had movers, I've made sure to prioritize both positivity and comfortability. They're handling objects and possessions that are precious to me, therefore I'll offer suggestions and even help get involved physically.
At the end of the day, it's my belongings I need moved and it's my belongings at risk, and on top of that, it's my money being spent to create a transition that goes as smooth as possible
Surely they weren't a******s to you, so they were probably just nervous seeing one guy try to handle things.
Ghosting them is unprofessional in this case even if you felt frustrated.
Just talk lol. I hope you keep this in mind for future moves.
I'd like to see you try and rub your two braloserls together and figure out a solution to a problem as simple as the one that defeated you so badly you went crying to you butt buddies you little baby back b****
You internet talkers got all the answers huh? You clearly don’t understand how a client-worker relationship is supposed to go, but yet here you are going back and forth with me like you better than me or something. Sit your ass down.
I’ve never had anyone complain about my work and I ain’t gone take no abuse from a client or from you little boy.
Imagine you’re getting evicted and the movers you hired scratch your s*** up, give up, then leave midway with half the money
Not my problem tbh that’s the risk and one of my rights with being a private contractor. I have to right to leave.
OP is a f***ing king tbh
Thank you these kids don’t understand having self respect and will accept abuse from anyone. I forgot I’m talking to young kids on here
Nah i've used it before it works well
"Shoulder dollies can promote proper lifting techniques by encouraging the use of legs for lifting, thereby reducing the risk of injury and back strain. They also help utilize the body's stronger muscle groups and give better leverage."
They should have notified me ahead of time

Til your boss fires your dumbass cause you couldn’t do something as simple as take drawers out of a dresser to make it easier to transport
OP angrily mumbling under his breath while struggling to move a lil kid’s dresser is f***ing sending me
lmfao bro you supposed to be a professional moving company talking about scratching up their s***
they should have all their s*** packed up for you though but tbh the big s*** is your responsibility literally why youre hired

Just because it’s a kids dresser doesn’t make it any less heavy

It’s almost like half the thread had given you tips to get around it being so heavy

I texted my boss and told him they failed to notify me of all the furniture ahead of time.
Yes I lied on the customers.

Hope this backfires on you as you are clearly ill equipped for the job lol

Since it’s so easy how about I dm you the guys number and you bring your ass to VA and do it yourself?
Respectfully, get your muscles up if you’re trying to be a mover fr. can’t be f***ing people’s furniture up
