It can happen. I'm indifferent to it. She must be doing a good job if she's teaching an AP course on it. If she has her credentials in the field, and has the respect of peers who are preferably Black and also in the field, I don't see it as much of an issue. I'd just have to ask her the obviously question "Why?" and also what she hopes to gain from the students she is teaching the subject to.

Then in college I had African American music class taught by a white woman who would sing negro spiritual

Also OP what state is this school in? Is this a private or public school? S***, is this a college or high school? Like we'd at least be able to figure out how something like this happens with that info.

High school I went to fasho had black people to teach the class. They just didn’t care. Romanian man argued me down about the definition of prejudice and racism (he had the definitions switched)

Then in 12th grade I was a student aid for the same class but taught by an older black man. Really great class. Cause he taught from the perspective of somebody who went through Jim Crow. Bruh said he preferred segregation as a kid and didn’t like integration. Had never heard that before. Perspectives like his is something the Romanian teacher could never give about black history
