Not pro US myself but just going "military bad" is about the most narrow minded, bludgeon stance to have. The military has done both good and bad things, and enabled its service members to achieve many great things and do more charitable work for society than the people that shun them ever will, on account of their military experiences and connections.

You take the good with the bad. You can be a part of it without supporting all of it, just like they are complicit in the crimes of the US by supporting its economy, but don't actually support them.

nah but my buddy went to Air Force school, it was a big deal cause he spent years getting ready in high school.

everyone’s experience is different, think it really just depends on intake officer (? idk the official name but the ones who helps you pick a role and sign the right documents) as they are your main guide through the process. i think you can also switch this person.

i would say like other dude said, just read everything to the finest print. think i always read with military people signing s*** they didn’t even know they were signing and now you’re essentially locked with no void option

aside from that, yea joining the military is complicated but if you feel personally you need to do it, then go for it. i been a victim of police brutality and still contemplated joining the force cause protection of people is important and my same mom who witnessed the brutality was supportive

just depends on how you can work your way past these things if they are a reality for you in your mind and if they aren’t, even better, and I say go for it! but please read first and make sure you’re ready if you decide to. if I never went for things I wouldn’t have the story I had from this past year.
