I hear a lot less of than I did 20 years ago b

That's why albums like 4:44, JIK, 4YEO, TPAB, exist b

While they still have hints of bravado and competition, it's far more introspective than in the past b

Not worrying about what the next man is doing and focusing on your own sound is literal advice successful rappers/artists give b

Literally every successful producer says this. But then you got KTT producers with no credentials preaching the opposite saying this way of thinking is lame 😂

Competition is still apart of me, doesnt mean I cant acknowledge its toxicity b

It's honestly ingrained in black culture as whole b and why we have a crab in the bucket mentality as a culture but thats a conversation for another thread b

  • Jan 15, 2020

playful competition like x did this so y wants to make something even better is good and encourages creativity

people who literally start hating each other and, in the worst case scenario, turn to violence is wack af.

It’s toxic because thats how you decide to make it. Be competitive because you want to see a better version of yourself instead of just wanting to see other beneath you. You’re personal experience with being competitive doesn’t make it toxic.

I can do those things without being competitive, so why add something that even has potential to be toxic to the equation b

It's like people who claim d**** make them more creative, I'm sure it does to a point b

It's not like it's toxic s*** has always been used in a healthy way

Hip-hop is so dominant and distinct because of its competitive nature

And in a way it's black expression traditionally seen in sports put into music which is pretty damn cool and encourages niggas to keep they game up
