OP suggesting to preemptively nuke his cells with chemotherapy is certainly an interesting stance
a damn shame too

nuking the bad cells yeah
Tbf prostate exams aren’t done nearly as much anymore
Is that right? I don’t know much about it but I thought you’re still recommended to get checked at age 50

Nah, it’s mostly done with symptomatic patients, it’s no longer recommended for routine screening. Now it’s recommended to discuss the risks (false-positives leading to invasive testing /complications) and benefits

Aren’t you nuking all the cells and it just happens to get rid of potentially bad ones as well
Aren’t you nuking all the cells and it just happens to get rid of potentially bad ones as well
yes but they can all potentially become bad
put us on game doc @Dreezy
Chemo is harmful lol I don’t understand what we’re suggesting here
Pre cancer therapy? Like actively poisoning yourself to stop some random cancer?
Aren’t you nuking all the cells and it just happens to get rid of potentially bad ones as well
AFAIK if the radiation is low enough it will only attack potentially dangerous cells and leave the healthy ones in tact
yes but they can all potentially become bad
So it’s like abolishing the police essentially

Radiation is different from chemo

Doesn’t count as invasive if you’re feeling it 🤌
I promise you they’re not
There’s tons of different kinds of chemo, each targeting different types of cancer, and the way the work is by killing cells in your body. The hope is that they are killing malignant cells more than normal cells because they are dividing more frequently, but they’re not specifically targeting them.
Cancer is something that happens when a cell develops a mutation, causing it to replicate rapidly, eating up all the energy in your body. These cells can pop up at any time. There are certain cancers that can be genetic, and therefor entrained in your DNA, which is impossible to delete (for the most part).
This so called “pre-emptive chemo” would do nothing but make you feel very sick, make you prone to devastating infections, and give you potentially life altering side effects.
Additionally, any physician prescribing this would likely lose their license
Can we just read this and close thread lol

Interesting info. I was just using that as an example of a screening, I feel like we should have more screenings for more things more routinely
But maybe that’s me being paranoid?
