I know there is Assassin's Creed III which I played for maybe 5 minutes but from what I understand it doesn't go into it that deeply idk. Plus is an AC game, not what I'm talking about in this case.

Regardless if there is, what I wish they would make a civil war game where it's 3rd person and your actually doing missions fighting in the war. Obviously it would be super controversial as letting you play as the union would piss off people who wanna play as the Confederacy and vice versa. It'd be cool if they let you play as 2 characters, maybe brothers fighting on opposite sides or something. And as opposed to fighting battles it'd be an actual adventure game as well. Just having fun with it lol but it'd be cool to see something like that. Imagine Rockstar or Naughty Dog tackled something like that.

To answer OP. It’s not really been explored in third person as far as I know. There are several janky FPS games. History Channel made 2 of them for the 360 era (Civil War: A Nation Divided and Civil War: Secret Missions) and there was a game called Darkest of Days that had a sci fi plot where you travel back in time to protect historical figures and the Civil War was a part of it

I’m someone who plays the dark urge on bg3 and always plays as evil as possible in rpg but still think someone playing the confederacy is super Sus

Surprised they haven't done that yet. The era would be dope to me because of the technology at the time. Bayonet combat, and the guns take hella long to reload would make it way more intense.

I just think because of the nature of that particular war is why most studios choose to stay away from it for the most part

yeah I mean I'd have to really think hard about what a civil war era "kill streak" would be, but genuinely I think it would be very cool too. let me slime some confederates. maybe it would be too on the nose and they want to avoid touching on slavery and confederate imagery in a campaign

That's exactly what I was alluding too we all know that's the reason they won't make a game (nothing AAA at least) in that era. I'd obviously be for the union side but just to make the game less biased I'd say f*** it and have you play characters from both sides just for the controversy lol

Yeah finally looked at this. Looks cool definitely the era, though this is the revolutionary war from what it looks like. Another era I wish more games did.I'd want something single player and 3rd person though. No multiplayer bs though I know it's a huge selling point.
