It’s a similar problem with the Iraq war. I still think it was a bad idea and that the United States shouldn’t have used military force so I guess I was against imperialism, but at the same time Saddam’s ousting was one of the few positive developments, and I would absolutely have not rooted for him to maintain power, even in the face of a foreign invasion. You can be against US intervention while also hoping foreign regimes crumble. Hopefully the revolutions spread through the entire gulf region, including America’s allies

They used mass advertising and propaganda to make a hero out of him. He was no hero general, just a mob boss's (supreme leader) enforcer.
