ahh gotcha
yea looking at the list i saw slam dunk on there so you would probably like vagabond if you havent read that. made by same mangaka, amazing mc / characters, great character development, great story and phenomenal art. also saw a lot of sports manga on there so i think you'd enjoy eyeshield 21 it's done by murata who does the art for opm
recent one ive been enjoying lately is dungeon meshi and its very solid. highkey a underrated gem

I don't think so.
I wasn't too sure so I checked Rakuten/mangazenkan/CMOA/oricon for this month and it wasn't up there like that. I'm sure it still sells well, as it's been serializing consistently since 2006.
But in my experience if you took a Japanese person off the side of the street they're more likely to have watched/read My Hero Academia or Jujutsu Kaisen than Kingdom, it was mostly Otaku I met that knew about it and read it.
It has sold more than 80 million copies and last year it was overall 2nd in manga sales with 8.2 million behind demon slayer so i think its quite mainstream there, although not as much as kny or jjk. So weird to me that it never took off here in the west like that, although at least in Italy i can find the manga around so there has to be a small niche

i'll have to look again when the statistics wrap up for this year too
I rarely hear people mention it IRL, so it surprises me that it sells as well as One Piece/JJK/ect.
Also kind of surprised it never took off in the west, maybe the anime adaptation wasn't great? I feel like anime adaptations tend to greatly contribute to manga popularity in the west (i haven't seen kingdom's though, just speculation)
Feel like finally starting Great Pretender
it's a nice little watch! not too long but somewhat interesting a rare anime with several key non-japanese characters

Is Dorohedoro as funny as Dai Dark? I watched the anime of Dorohedoro and loved it. But Dai has me dying. Since it looks like the second season for Dorohedoro may never come I am about to the start the manga to finish it,.

Yeah its a mistery to me too, maybe the setting also doesnt help it? Its a war set in china so maybe its not appealing to the west. But also you might be on the money, nobody checks out the anime and its not even that good from what ive heard so it cant get visibility. Sad to see really, only heard good things about the manga
