Pretty sure the whole point is to refresh people on everything that happened in season 1. Season 1 was 4 years ago, so a director’s cut gives ppl more motivation to rewatch the first season before Season 2 starts

Not really, maybe early on there's some loose end story line stuff for a character or 2 to get out the way

But after that for the most part feels like it's generally fast forward a couple months or a year and the next campaign is under way

Yep, I'm at chapter 249 now and it seems like the author of this manga is extremely comfortable at writing a good war story but is completely inapt at everything else. And at the end of the day, combat stories are cool but they become boring when used in abundance and I feel like i'm reading a Michael Bay movie script right now.

Like we had an extremely interesting plotline with Ryofui f\*\*\*ing the Queen Mother and the king going on the offensive but all that was just cut short by another f\*\*\*ing war arc and they didnt go back to it yet....after at least 50-60 chapters, it's f\*\*\*ing insane.

Well you gotta think what the story is about after all. The main goal means you're gonna be reading a lot of war. Aside from that it's not really political, it's about dudes going out in the field for the most part.

The Ryofui stuff think of it as a long con, it's not something that's gonna be quick if my memory is correct. You're also getting very close to what is widely considered the best arc of kingdom

The plot that you mentioned continues don't worry. I actually like the cutting between the wars and the politics, showing us that these niggas not just sittin around whilst people dying in the field.
