That could have been such an emotionally impactful moment. To see a kid so badly want to become someone’s hero that he fights without his quirk. Could have been Midoriya rushing at a villain without any quirk tier
One of the biggest misconception about anime is that big budget = quality work. There’s a lot more factors in play like production schedule, staff etc. In MHA case the problem seems to be the direction and storyboarding that doesn’t seem to utilize a lot of animation. Might be due to the fact that the director for animation in S1 & S2 is working on the movie.

It’s honestly pretty straight forward. Like yeah you assume more will be explained but it establishes the concept and the cast of main characters.
It just doesn’t spoonfeed it to you. People made it out to be like nothing made sense at all lol

come on bruhYeah from reading the comments, it seems like people were not able to connect the first 5 minutes to the rest of the episode and see that there was a time skip. Like so many people yesterday were like saying the episode made no sense at all lol.
Now they’re saying it’s “decent” or saying they don’t like the art/animation which just seems like them tryna make some bullshit up

AshTheRobotFor MHA season 4, MHA’s A team of animators went to work on the film. And their B team of animators took a break from the series to work on Fire Force.
So Season 4 is pretty much just MHA’s C teamWhere’s the sauce on this, most of Fire Force staff is several SHAFT staffers joining David Production

I just heard it from some of the animation nerds I know on discord and forums.
The kind of ppl who know the names of animators by heart and can match animators to scene like nothing, so I just usually trust their info on anime animators is right.
I exaggerated when I said “entire B team” though. They only said that 2 of MHA’s most notable animators left to work on Fire force. The vast maJority of Fire Force’s staff is definitely old Shaft ppl though - Jan 8, 2020
