forgot Shaman King dropped already. Haven’t heard people talk about it at all. Is it not good?
hard for me to rate it from the old anime since i dont remember much from it but one complaint that ive seen for the new one is that the pacing is too fast and it definitely feels like that. the animation also isnt the best as well. id say its ok for what it is
So I am new to manga... But do you guys actually like Manhwa? I am asking because often times they start out great. But then I see they have 300+ chapters. In my opinion there are very little manga or any similar comics from other countries that could ever be good after soo many chapters
In my opinion manga that are 60 or maybe just above 100 chapters are the best. But 200-300... No way. They would most likely go off the rails
I mean the director of Vivy is not a big name at all and he got creative freedom to make a completely original anime with amazing talent all around him to help
There’s plenty of directors who get creative freedom even to make additions with huge name works like attack on Titan or My Hero Academia. I’d imagine you are right with some of the smaller studios that are under Big Crunch but even then producers in anime studios generally let the staff do what they want, as long as they meet their deadlines since the objective isn’t for the anime to make money but to simply market the source material
MHA director gets creative freedom? What is he doing exactly lol?
Um anyway I don't think the directors are the bad guys overworking the artists. It's the studios who order anime and set the dead lines. So there's still a producer determining these things like how the anime would be promoted, how many episodes it should have and when it will be aired.
So studios taking on less anime and not overworking artists to death shouldn't change the director's role. Anime should be created the same only under reasonable pressure and time limits.
MAL's top anime and top manga lists were a mistake
It's always later seasons of an anime getting the top spots because if you don't like JoJo or Monogatari you wouldn't watch it 5 seasons in... That's why it always fills up those lists.
Also it's easy to manipulate and MAL users can heavily uprank or downrank an anime, yet they still rely on this list a lot.
There’s a s*** ton of shows mentioned here I just kept in mind without actually adding to the list now I forgot them all
Lovely Complex
You're welcome
My suggestion for MAL is that every anime should be listed once. No sequel seasons or OVAs. Movies, remakes, spinoffs are an exception. For example Naruto and Naruto Shipudden should be separated.
tsurune was good. just watched the whole thing in one sitting

lmfao yes. just cuz it’s long doesn’t mean it’s not good, especially when Manwha chapters are shorter than regular manga chapters a lot of the time.
Tower of God and God of Highschool are both at 500+ chapters rn and they are better than any manga being published rn

There's plenty of great long running series, most things that people recommend are going to be between average - above average - good - great - classic, since the s*** that's trash isn't gonna retain readers.
You gotta think of it like books, there's plenty of long ass books, long ass series that are great reads, just as their is shorter s*** that's great too, and plenty of stuff that falls between ass and good along the way.

I think a lot of times long is better, it's just that you can only commit to a few mangas like that. But if it's a good story you can get more into it and into the world and that's fun.
That's why I love One Piece and Hunter x Hunter so much.
Even if it's an episodic story or an arc story with little to no continuity that can be fun. A good example is Mushishi which has 50 episodes, but potentially they can release new chapters forever because it has no continuous plot.
I guess a flaw can be that a story can lose its edge but still continue because it's very popular. So I'll just say have a vision for what your story should be like or it'll get bad. If it's already intended to be a long story that's ok but if it's forced readers will notice.
