I love Dr Stone so much
Best anime pickup in a grip
Its so light hearted and original and funny, its no goat contender but i still enjoy it
Dr. Stone is cool and fun to watch weekly
fr, itβs the only sequel from this season that didnβt confuse tf out of me because of where it started/left off from the end of the previous season
pretty straightforward fantasy/comedy anime with the relatively unique science gimmick, it does make for a nice watch
Bro why do anime always have a terrible English speaking impression
Like it's supposed to be convincing but it's always a bad accent

Once I realized it's just a simple anime for kids I adjusted my expectations
It's good to have a fun simple anime that also teaches you science stuff

Cause japanese cant speak english. Cant blame them tho, its like a completely different language to theirs

But why not hire an English speaking VA just for these lines?

Season 2 please
the whole bartender bit in s1 is still one of the greatest comedic sequences i ever seen
But why not hire an English speaking VA just for these lines?
Dont know why they never do, probably cause the voice would be too different from the japanese one
But why not hire an English speaking VA just for these lines?
Sounds like a nightmare of trouble to go through when the line is probably gonna take less than 30 seconds of air time. How many native English speakers live in Japan? How many of those native English speakers are trained voice actors? How many of those trained voice actors are fluent in Japanese and can competently communicate/work with a Japanese studio?
Sure, I guess they could try reaching out to an overseas voice actor, but that's still more trouble than just getting a Japanese voice actor to do it. It just seems like an absurd amount of time and effort to waste for 1 or 2 lines of dialogue.

Your and Stardust's explanations make sense, but I don't think it's too much work at all. They know they have an international audience who would notice, and it looks silly. When it's an anime you want me to take seriously, like Devilman Crybaby for example, why half ass it? Animators, directors and writers put effort into the little details, so why not this little detail?
Btw, they can always take lines from the dub, it would sound better in that context
