That s*** on roku tho? Cause I need to watch it on my tv hate watching s*** on tiny laptop screen

    Only reason I did crunchyroll

If you’re able to connect your laptop to your TV then aniwatch or animixplay are good options. For aniwatch you’ll have to make an account tho but just use a throwaway email (it’s free). Both sites HD and No ads

If y’all could greenlight a well staffed anime, what would you go with?

When I was a kid I was really into this series called air gear, wasn’t a masterpiece but I think with modern animation it would be pretty popular

    Holy s*** just finished Happiness @rano @Psychodrama

Gonna stare at my ceiling now

don’t get why ppl complained at the ending being underwhelming. Some things happen to end with a new beginning if that makes sense. Ozaki accepts his situation and lives on with Nora. He still drinks blood without killing. Ending felt complete

the ending couldnt have been better imo

the art in things like the night sky was very van gogh-like and surreal but at the same time at some disturbing or emotionaly touching scenes the creator could easily put the readers in his headspace

most of the characters felt ''too real'' considering the bizarre setting they're in but as I grew more and more attached to the mcs I kept wishing nothing bad would happen to em but this manga had the true feel of reality that everything can crumble any moment

great piece of art. I enjoyed every single chapter....even the edgy moments (which were not there just for shock value)

easily in my top 3 manga I finished last year

Voynich Hotel by Studio Shaft (back when they were actually good) will always be my answer to this. Probably wouldn't be that popular but that's on par with most of the s*** I like anyways.

Loved all the covers. Did you read flowers of evil?

Seen a vid explaining blood on the tracks. S*** might be a little too dark for me lol I’ll prolly hold off on that for now

Haven't read flowers of evil yet, been on my list just need to finish some other series first.
    Have you read it?
And yeah, blood on the tracks very dark, it's understandable why you would hold off lmao

Spirit Circle. A great manga that I would compare to FMA, not storywise but how it can be enjoyed by anybody because it combines and executes many themes and ideas so well.
A good anime adaptation would be an amazing entry title to rec people just getting into anime.

(The manga itself is also great for people just getting into manga but that wasn't the question)

I also love the way the night sky was drawn and almost felt like everytime it was shown with that Van Gogh style it was through the perspective of one of the vampires and how they found beauty in the night.
It was great that the author dived into multiple characters and how they all affected each other in a way that they were able to connect with one another while each carrying their own burden of the circumstances that were forced on them. In 50 chapters we got to see monsters touching humanity again, humans finding happiness through monsters, and straight up crazy mfers that reject society.

Also glad author didn’t expand on the government involvement and s*** lol

Just read the synopsis, definitely see what you’re saying with a lot of different themes coming together. There’s a lot to play with when reincarnation is an aspect of the story (if you do it in a good way and not a naruto way lol)

been watching Reincarnated as a Slime past couple days, on episode 8 or so rn and it’s pretty dope. nothing crazy has happened yet, but the characters are cute and well designed and everyone is doing some interesting stuff, with some entertaining world building/lore slowly being explained.

excited to see where it goes with the rest of this first season and the second one currently airing.

Most slept on show of the season

    Slime is nice

Genuine chills during this scene just from how well the animator did. WEP's character acting is insane and I'm having trouble thinking of a show that comes anywhere close to it.

WEP 6: The way it transitioned from Ai in the school confidently telling the girl "I'm ready for the final boss", to her shocked face upon seeing her teacher in her apartment was amazing.

That transition is in a league of it's own.
Dead on I cant think of anything else ive seen like that compares to that

    NANA - 9/10

I've never liked main characters. It always seemed like authors were afraid of giving their main characters genuine, significant flaws that would result in them taking actions which bear actual consequences. Now, there's a couple reasons why they do this: characters with actual flaws are harder for the audience to self-insert as, or the audience may not enjoy following a story about someone they perceive as a "bad" person. As a result, I find main characters tend to feel kinda stale and boring, but that isn't a problem with other characters.

Authors can push the limits a little more with side characters or antagonists: giving them significant flaws. That's what makes them so much more interesting than the main characters: they're allowed to be imperfect, and its much more interesting to watch a bad person successfully become good, fail to become good, or ruin themselves because they never even tried - as opposed to watching a good person stay good.

I find anime, specifically romance anime, is more interesting when ALL characters are deeply flawed and genuinely terrible people (e.g. White Album 2). Everyone in the the aforementioned show have a multitude of internal conflicts where they have to choose between choices driven by their flaws (choosing what they WANT), and choices driven by rational thought and personal growth (choosing what they NEED). Those internal conflicts alone are interesting, but most importantly, decisions chosen due to negative personality traits result in actual negative outcomes, and decisions chosen due to positive personality traits result in actual positive outcomes - providing the proper payoff and sense of weight when it comes to their actions.

S***... wasn't this suppose to be a Nana review? I don't know, I had an idea in mind of how I was gonna transition from that topic into the actual Nana review but once it wrote it down it didn't sound as good as it did in my head. To keep it short since I already f***ed up: Nana basically does all the good stuff I talked about and doesn't do all the bad stuff I talked about. It's a show full of terrible people, but great characters. It's a show where those characters deservedly suffer as a result of their actions, with consequences that aren't completely forgotten by the time the next scene starts. From a writing perspective, I think it just does everything right.

There’s real degenerates over there, when S4 of AoT aired there were some really weird threads on Gabi.
