Eren in the new season isn't presented to as a hero, he's obviously not happy with a lot of the stuff he's doing and every character around him is questioning his Morals. Im not sure how you compare this to a 40 year old groping a child and seemingly enjoying it.

You’re justifying somebody who is a genocidal freak by talking about how he’s questioned for it but I have seen so many reactions now of fans screaming “EREN IS THE GOAT” and getting so hype when he tells Reiner that he will kill every Marleyan so clearly the fans see what he’s doing as f***ing awesome.

This pedo ass dude is also questioned for his morales when he does this s*** and he’s always punished for it. He’s a kid rn so it’s not played off super seriously by the characters around him but he’s definitely reprimanded for it.

And eren is the main character of AOT. Neither he nor this guy in MT are presented as heroes by any means. They’re the main characters we follow but the character in MT is as grey as eren is in that they both do good and bad things.

Also the guy in MT sees his new life like a video game. So that doesn’t excuse him doing this kinda s***, but he doesn’t see these people as real human beings. He treats it like one of the MMOs / Eroges that he plays prior to his death.

My whole point is that judging the fanbase and the creator of a story for questionable morals is extremely hypocritical because this is fiction and there’s a pretty strong chance that same person likes characters that freely murder others or are creeps (I mean Hisoka does mad questionable s*** throughout HxH as well and he got an entire fanbase). Bakugo is loved by anime fans but if he was a real person, he would be considered absolute scum.

Im not gonna argue about why people are upset seeing a 40 year old touch a 9 year old and narrating it. The author could've went with any other redemption story he/she wanted but went with that. I never justified eren but at least he has a decent reason story wise to do what he does. That disgusting s*** added nothing.

The fact you really said that is proof that anime fans who get mad at MT for questionable morals are just hypocrites who will excuse far worse s*** like murder and genocide from their fav characters. End of the day, there’s a ton of people cheering for eren to commit genocide but then want to get on their moral high horse to judge other characters.

the eren case is weird cause we didnt get to know eren as he is now

there were literaly years of him being a b**** then a soldier then a hero then a tragic figure and now that we've seen him go through all these phases a portion of empathy towards him is only logical

I doubt there's aot fans that go ''yeah eren!! kill everyone!! that'll teach em a lesson'' right??

How can other people ruin a show for you? Thats crazy, i could never let others opinion take away my enjoyment/love/hype for a show, i could get annoyed for sure but ruin the experience? Never

That reminds me of the people who hate on a show cause of the fandom/community, mfers will say haikyuu or mha is mid/trash and their reasoning being their fandom, just say your hate is unfounded and go.

Yeah I’m not out here trying to act like eren isn’t a mad compelling character. But it’s just always weird to me how readily people will get so hyped about murder or genocide which are objectively far worse crimes than pedophilia but then always get so creeped out by sexual crimes.

Dude in MT is a piece of s*** and the entire fanbase knows he is. But they watch it because of the world building and the rest of the cast. Also he sees every character he interacts with as a video game character and not real people. Doesn’t justify the s*** he does but he’s not like a rapist or predator.
