Everyone has their own form of loneliness that they have to figure out internally and physically lol except kanai he’s just clueless simp but even he has his moments

The second half gets even better with showing how much the characters change and learn about themselves. Get ready to stare at your ceiling fan or outside a window

I hate the main couple in Golden Time

i do too. at first i couldnt even tell if kouko was written to be likeable or not but then she got a happy ending so i guess that answers that lol banri's whole drama was more frustrating than intriguing

I think she was supposed to be likable but the only times I liked her was when Banri kept f***ing up their relationship or when her dad slapped her.

Rest of the time she was narcissistic, petty, pathological liar, really annoying person.

I usually like tsundere but that’s not what she is

Tenki no Ko - 5/10

This was s*** lol. If I wasn't such a sucker for beautiful animation I would probably rate this movie down in the 3 range. Seriously, all the little details that most anime fans don't take into account when thinking about animation such as fabric, hair, liquids, and character acting are insane throughout the movie and bump up its rating by two points alone for me.

Narratively it felt a little messy, especially when you compare it to Shinkai's previous films like The Garden of Words and Your Name. Their simplicity meant the movies could use more of their limited run time developing the characters so I could form some sort of emotional connection with them. On the other hand, Tenki no Ko spent too much time on characters/events who ultimately weren't very important. By the end of the movie I still didn't really care about, or even know much about the characters as actual human beings.
