Chihayafuru (2020) - 10/10

What a great season. I thought the inclusion of Hanano and Tsukaba as additional characters in season 2 was kind of clunky, but season 3 did an amazing job putting the spotlight on other characters. Harada and Haruka provided great perspectives on the sport from the eyes of aging competitors, Suou and Shinobu were finally tested and started coming to terms with themselves, and the main trio just kept getting better and better as they grew throughout the season.

Taichi is still the series MVP when it comes to character writing and he's in my top 5 male characters of all time. He's a flawed as hell human being, and that's what makes him interesting.

I still think the love triangle in Chihayafuru is its weakest part to be honest. I'm not even sure I want Chihaya to end up with anybody when the series ends.
