The first 4 episodes of Paranoia Agent were weird and super interesting..... but starting with 5-ending were just a completely different direction to where I thought it was going.
Really disappointed with the series tbh

Legend of the Galactic Heroes - 7/10
Well, it took me four months but I finally finished it.
OK lets get this out of the way first: this show's production values were s*** lmao. Animation is non-existent, character models are noticeably different at multiple points in the show due to different studios handling production on different episodes, and sound design is budget as f***.
The narrative structure was great: being able to see into the lives and thoughts of every single significant character really fleshed them out and made them into actual characters. It drove home the fact that everyone had valid reasons for what they did, and turned the conflict into a more interesting grey vs gray instead of a simple black vs white.
I didn't like anything related to the space battles. I mentioned lack of animation earlier, and while its pretty bad in all scenarios, it's very noticeable during the space battles in particular. If the commanders weren't stating their orders to the fleet, and maps displaying the position of the ships weren't shown, I would have no idea what was going on. The actual combat footage was a bunch of still shots of ships lined up and lasers beams appearing and disappearing.
The topics about democracy and autocracy were interesting: probably my favourite part of the show. Is a democracy that elects an incompetent leader better than a dictatorship led by a competent and fair leader? I enjoyed watching Yang and his dedication to the ideals of democracy, especially when he struggled with it, acknowledging the downsides of it, and staying true to it even though it would bring tangible consequences. There were a lot of great characters other than Yang in this show who struggled with themselves and their ideals.
Very good show. Pretty close to my top 50, but I'm not sure spending 110 episodes on it at this moment in time was worth it. To be honest, I would have rather spent that time watching a bunch of shorter anime to experience more of what the medium has to offer before spending all that time on this one.

Nice review. Adding to my list
The movie does their characters justice imo
Also, its structured like a regular tv season so expect the pacing to be more similar to that
finished the movie yesterday and i think i can agree with this, or at least the characters were a lot more enjoyable to watch than they were throughout the show on average - i can actually root for kyon and haruhi is more endearing here too, but maybe that's just because there's less of her. and nagato is confirms her status as best character
overall a pretty enjoyable watch imo
also watched the first kara no kyoukai movie..and it was kinda lame lmao. not sure if it's enough to hook me to watch 6 more whole movies, but i got a lot of time this summer so i might just keep going, especially since it seems like 2 actually starts explaining s***
worst thing is there weren't enough of them ufotable fight scenes
but the only one they did have was pretty cool ill give em that

first 4 movies are told oddly (avoiding spoilers) wonβt really make sense until the 5th movie
that and the 7th are really good though

Have you tried the remake?
Have you tried the remake?
Naw. I'm sure the space battles would probably be nicer but having seen the character designs I don't think I could f*** with the new visual direction.
Yo mind game movie was insane
Oregairu is still so good.
Episode 5 gave us fun insights into Hiratsuka and |gave us a look at Iroha getting a bit frustrated|.
I feel like nobody is really going to win out in the end of this series and it's gonna make it so sad.

I need Yuki to win bro
finished watching the second kara no kyoukai movie and it also sucked
i cant even imagine what it would be like to get into this as the movies were releasing unless u were already a nasu stan, these films do not hold up at all on their own so far
ill keep going at least until 5 since im still kinda interested in the characters and setting, and hopefully it pays off, but tbh as long as i get more scenes like this i wont regret it

snafu is probably the worst possible rom com to blow up like it has
what a pretentious ass boring show

yeah, it mostly pisses me off cuz I am a huge rom com fan in anime and have prob watched like every single one and it pisses me off to constantly see so many shows just end at 1 cour and never get picked but then to keep seeing this s*** get season after season
I just watch it cuz seeing a rom/com show get a 3rd season, let alone a 2nd is like seeing Bigfoot. But man its not good at all lmao.

my favs for tv are:
Kids on the Slope
After the Rain
Kimi Ni Todoke
Kaichou Wa Maid Sama
Spice and Wolf
Naruto Shippuden so trash.
Sakura and Sasuke deserve each other. Both terrible miserable characters.
Edit: Naruto a little b**** too.
Finished Shield Hero and it was a fun watch. Iβll probably peep something more serious next
