I agree with your hate for how the majority of people use the 1-10 scale though. Makes no sense to make 7 the cutoff point for good stuff. There's no reason to use 6 numbers to differentiate how bad something is but only use 4 numbers to differentiate how good something is.

Ya I jumped on the "less numbers are better" bandwagon a couple a months ago but I still wanted to give special acknowledgement to my favourite shows so I settled with a hybrid-system between smiley faces and 1-10.

1 star = terrible/bad/mid/pleasant
2-5 stars = varying degrees of actually good
