    I dont get this recommendation

The entire point of a prequel is that you have knowledge of what happens before it by virtue of seeing the original work

You can watch Zero without watching Fate/Stay Night though. I'd even argue the knowledge from Zero does you more good in Stay/Night than the knowledge of Stay/Night does you watching Zero.

Like we really didn't have a good Fate/Stay Night adaptation until 2018~ and Fate/Zero came out in 2012, it's a perfectly fine standalone watch (thought the first episode can be hard since it's 45min)

MT is definitely the 2nd anime i would most want to delete from existence if i had the chance

I wonder if I’ll delete School Days or not, it’s terrible but it’s also a reason to keep it.

That’s a problem that’s prevalent in anime though, like not tryna excuse it but Tokyo Revengers mc was 26 and went back in time to middle school and has a relationship/kisses his middle school crush, it’s sadly normal in anime. You get used to looking past that, that h**** middle age pervert trope is really big. I’m thinking more about the animation and story, if that’s good then i don’t mind tbh

Both things are creepy, Mushoku Tensei is a little worse just because being a pedophile is a personality trait for the main character, meanwhile in Tokyo Revengers you can pretend it’s platonic and non sexual.

    genuine question

why do a lot of anime/manga start off with amazing concepts and colorful characters but then colapse under their own setting from tryna go too big?

this is not rhetorical btw...if a formula of 10 volumes is successful then why introduce 20 new elements that make no sense in the last 2 volumes?

I don’t know, but I agree WEP ending is very stupid

Edit: wait I do know, it’s because they don’t have it planned and they actually plan the plot weekly

Started Arcane three times now and haven’t paid attention not once when watching it.

    Wtf going on

A friend who’s a league fan told me I’d love it even though I know nothing about league, and another friend told me it’s good but he wouldn’t think it’s good if he didn’t play league, and I believe the other guy so I didn’t watch it.

Arcane better than majority of the last six seasons so let's not talk s*** about arcane

Most anime are mid so idk if that means anything

I had it confused with world of warcraft at first. Never played either, going to give it one more try and see how it goes.

i've played league for like 10 years and the only thing i really got out of it watching arcane was a bit of nostalgia when the characters i knew came on screen

    it was pretty good tho

honestly i've listened to the japanese for that quote and while it sounds stupid i'm not sure what else they could have changed it to in english to make it sound better

I'd argue it's also pretty obvious that Takemichi's motivations are to protect Hina from death, whether he ends up dating her or not hence why in the main timeline he dumps her when her father asks, thinking that it will save her from being involved and killed later, even at the cost of not getting to see her again back in his timeline.

I agree it's still weird but I couldn't even call Mushoku just a 'little' worse it's pretty f***ing bad

I think what you said is a minor spoiler because I didn't remember that

Anyway there's still an implication that a 27 year old man in a 14 year old boy's body is in love with his high school sweetheart and that's pretty weird...

I probably said this before but I believe Tokyo Revengers would be better without the time travel and if he was just a 14 year old able to predict the future (even though it kills some drama)

But yeah pedophile as a main character trait is weird and awful no matter how great the anime production is
