Ngl i almost fell asleep in the 1st half of mugen train
How
That s*** was amazing
Better than the second half imo
The duality of angles

How
That s*** was amazing
Better than the second half imo
2nd half woke me up felt like something was actually on the line
1st half just felt like another typical everyday outing in that universe

Better than the second half imo
1st half was pretty boring to me. I dont care about inosuke and zenitsu being annoying, thought the concept of a demon posessing a train# was cool but never felt like the characters were in danger, thought !#tanjiro's dream# was cool, liked that part, the other !#dreams were aight but still never felt like there was any real danger. I got interested when the counter attack started cause i could finally see ufotable flexing their animation skills and their budget (whole movie looks great although train could've been animated instead of being cgi tbh). The last fight was easily the best part of the movie and id also say of the entire series thus far.
And this is how i feel about the series in general. The fights are amazing, love the techniques, but the characters are so cliche and boring i tend to get bored of them quickly besides a few exceptions. I must say tho that i appreciate the mangaka being willing to kill characters, often in brutal ways
what anime should I watch next? wrong answers only please
There's a bunch of really good isekais you should check out. The thread loves them
Mugen Train arc better than I thought but normally I dont like movie rehashes. I thought Mugen Train movie was very aight to reasonable i think I shall like more context
I am still so upset that the ending to Wonder Egg Priority and promised neverland both fumbled

yeah the series is cool but hella overhyped for the reasons you named + the plot is kinda generic too
Overworked that staff to hospitalizations for that
proof that a healthy work environment brings forth the best results

The movie actually turned me around on the anime. I thought the art, animation and music are great and that the writing is subpar and characters are too cliche, so I called it overrated, but in the Mugen Train movie all of these were even better, and when they showed Tanjiro's dream it felt really emotional to me idk.
Like I enjoyed the villain and how emotionally manipulative his power is. Straight up evil. I think it was interesting and dealt with Tanjiro's tragic past, which they didn't really touch in the anime even though it's really traumatic.
Really wholesome to see all the villain's servants visit the dream sequences, and this one guy sees Tanjiro's aura, which is so bright it convinces him to help him instead.
Really beautiful ideas and the fighting in the second half, while great, didn't make me feel as much as the first half. Although the entire movie is great.

WEP ending might be worse than Soul Eater because it's like the entire journey of WEP didn't matter

I watched all of demon slayer recently (also read the manga), and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Idk if it's rlly comparable, but I enjoyed it more than JJK. I love how Tanjiro is willing to do what's necessary while still being a highly empathetic character. Only thing I didn't like about the show was Zenitsu's characterization - one of the most annoying characters I've ever seen.
