why did Reg make that exasperated facial expression when they panned over to him as Riko was rubbing Nanachi down ?

I don't recall Reg making any sort of perverted facial expressions, he wanted to touch Nanachis pelt and asked why shes ok with Riko doing it and not him, your image is what she said.

Why she said that? Cause she uncomfortable af with Reg probably cause he a male and doesn't want him touching her cause she associates that with it being sexual.

I don't see the point you're trying to make tho, there was nothing sexual about Riko touching Nanachi. Nanachi blushes at pretty much everything, she a very awkward character and can't even take compliments without getting flustered

Honestly to criticize MiA anime over this but overlook the fact that we normally see 13-15 yo girls being sexualized in anime is hypocritical especially when it is so much more blatant in shows like Fate/Kaleid or even more popular, My Hero Academia.

This is a good video I think that makes a case for the storytelling of MiA and its inclusion of children's sexual curiosity, which there may be a case for creator intent but it is definitely true that to tell stories about kids and their sexual desires is a very rare occurrence and I think tends to be part of the reason for why kids often grow up so confused about their bodies and turn out to have anxiety problems, body issues, etc. youtube.com/watch?v=Z58thY3Lf1E

I don't think it's hypocritical. I keep the same energy when I see it in other anime. They don't look that young in MHA which is why I'm not bothered, plus it's not as sexual.

It’s easily more sexual in MHA because it’s literally designed for the viewer to ogle at. They’re little kids given supermodel bodies and their female body parts are literally accentuated for the viewer and even characters in the show to be turned on by

Whereas in MIA, the characters are depicted to have bodies like little kids would have and there is nothing sexual in their interactions. It’s always from a place of curiosity or innocence for them. If anything, there is a commentary on a culture of kids that grow up believing to think anything sexual is wrong to show how many incredibly terrifying and horrible scenarios arise that they have to deal with, yet are completely perplexed when they have to think about their body or interact with someone of the opposite gender. It’s one of the better displays of coming of age sexuality in anime, the best recently probably being O Maidens In your Savage Season or Shinsekai Yori

She’s 16ish at this point in the series.
While the outfits are sexualized, that’s sort of a thing in comics in general.

But I don’t think it’s unbelievable that a 16 year old is built like this, especially when they are meant to be heroes in shapes, as compared to something like Eromanga Sensei where 9 year olds are built like this

Even then the way this is framed and drawn, it’s clear they want her ass to be defined like this to appeal to the viewers

Yeah it’s not as big an offense as something like eromanga Sensei but point is a lot of anime tends to depict little kids and teens body parts as being model-esque and they tend to be sexualized far more than what we see in MiA which is kids looking like kids and the parts where they are flustered about their bodies or being naked are played more out of innocence rather than them actually being attracted to one another
