While being inconsistent in quality, sometimes falling into the trap of following the manga too closely rather than being its own thing (Episode 3 and 6 is where it deviates), I think the show does a mostly decent job adapting some of the source material. 6-9 was the strongest run of episodes in the season, and if they can get to that chaotic level for at least half of next season I think the show could actually grow some legs. As for now it’s a pretty standard manga adaptation. Lots of questionable pacing decisions, simple direction, and prioritization of what to not show. A step down from the original so far, but by no means terrible.
