Happy Belated Birthday to Itsuki Tsuchigami, born the same day as Bahi JD. Also know by the fans as Miso, Tsuchigami is a fantastic webgen animator. Best known for his epic/action packed storyboards and lovely AD, his work on Mob Psycho and the Fate series is peak, and he has consistently delivered quality spectacle. His animation is known to use a limited frame count, yet still carry a lot of momentum and anticipation. A frequent collaborator on Hakuyu Go directed episodes of tv anime, as well as Shingo Yamashita’s OPs or PVs, Miso is a somewhat underrated figure in the industry and is a deluxe freelancer.

Going freelance straight out of high school, Miso’s first big project was on Yatterman Night in 2015. His initial KA was fairly good, and showed his character super early on. sakugabooru.com/post/show/19564 a lot of webgen-isms displayed such a bulbous smoke and noticeable key frames. It wouldn’t take long until after showing little effort he’d go to work on Seraph of The End and Idolmaster Cinderella Girls. On these projects he showcased diversity with effects animation and dancing. His efforts got some recognition from Megumi Kouno and I assume she’d help get him on to Shingo Natsume’s One-Punch Man. Miso was on fairly simple scenes, and not too sakuga crazy but a foundation was built solidifying him as animator to look out for. His work on Episode 6 is very good sakugabooru.com/post/show/194233 with nice camerawork though the boards aren’t benefiting his style. Crazy he was only 21.
