the anime director for school rumble is the same for gintama which is what i'm watching right now. it's from 2006 and has around 360 episodes. i recommend it if you don't know what to watch next. it's one of the funniest animes, has good serious moments, and the action is as good as any fighting anime. there are no new good animes that started airing this year so far. the only good stuff airing this year are ongoing animes. i suggest watching frieren or jujutsu kaisen for newer animes even though they're ongoing and have had multiple seasons since 2020. i would also recommend dr. stone, an anime from 2019 which is ongoing and still good.

shibou yuugi 5/10 - Ueno is still the most interesting new director but the source material here was kinda meh

jjk s3 7/10 - probably the best JJK has been yet. JJKs writing has never been particularly good, especially when it comes to characters. I think an arc dedicated to nothing but hype moments and aura is awesome since it just lets us see a bunch of cool new characters for their 5 minutes of screentime before shuffling them off and moving on

frieren s2 8/10 - setup season but they still managed to have a thematic thread around protecting homes throughout the season

tortured princess s2 8/10 - fun things are fun

fate strange fake 8/10 - this is the best fate has ever looked. I've been begging for Enokido and Sakazume to get a chance to direct a full-length series and this exactly why. Can't believe so many Fate entries got wasted on Ufotables sfx spam slop

Funny you mention DB, a manga actually worth reading even if you have seen the show because of it's improved pacing and goated paneling

I've probably read like 7 volumes in total but from all over the place because you can just pick it up and read and not get lost with the story. Its fine if you like mysteries like I did as a kid but I would probably never read it from start to end
