Also, Shikamaru is Naruto's ACTUAL best friend.

Thematically speaking, Rock Lee is the real main character. And the final arc just proves that Neji was right the whole time.

Elaborate on the rock Lee and neji thing

Elaborate on the rock Lee and neji thing

The whole point of Naruto's character in the beginning is that he's supposed to be the "underdog" and that hard work and determination can supersede natural born talent. That was what the whole ideological battle between him and Neji in the chunnin exam was supposed to represent, with Neji being on the side of not being able to change fate.

We literally have this theme ham-fisted to us throughout the majority of the series. Every character Naruto faces in the exams has a Kekkei Genkai, techniques that are exclusive only to people born in particular clans. Literally referred to as a "DNA anomaly" in official guides. Natural born talent.

Fast forward to the final arc, and Naruto is literally the reincarnation of ninja Jesus. He was never an underdog and always pre-ordained to be the most powerful ninja of his time, just like every other version of him that has existed throughout time. Neji was right.

On other hand, Rock Lee is a character who is completely incapable of using techniques from any of the three main jutsu categories other than taijutsu. Literally the only thing he knows how to do is punch and kick, in a world where people can fly, breathe fire, shoot laser beams and summon giant monsters.

Rock Lee is who Naruto was supposed to be through and through. Despite his shortcomings, he was able to train himself so hard, by the time we got to the fourth ninja war, this dude was able to kick a reanimated Edo-Madara in half. And then later, was quick enough to push Eight-Gates Guy away from an on-coming attack from Six Paths-Madara.

The fact that Neji is the only major character to die in that war too (not counting Shikamaru and Ino's dads)

N---a has eyes that damn near gives him a 360 degree field of vision on top of being a master of a particular of martial arts that lets him repel any projectile thrown at him.

Dude was blocking arrows that were supposedly harder than steel pre-time skip. Iruka in chapter one was able to survive having a giant shuriken lodged in his spine, but branches were able to kill Neji...

I don't think Naruto really has a close 1 on 1 relationship with anyone in the anime

Fair enough, i find anime and music to have similar amounts of trash but in music a lot of bad albums are underground so not many people listen to them
