Sakura having a death match with Sasori is all I needed
Shikamarus wittyness and his sensei
Sasuke vs Itachi
Six paths of pain and the tragic backstories
The whole Akatsuki s*** is peak naruto
And the obito reveal is heat
Aight ab to read an arc again

I forgot to mention, Death Note started to go downhill after episode 24
The best episode is the one he kills L and second place is the finale
Tokyo Ghoul S2 isn't that bad and has the best OP of any anime
Demon Slayer and My Hero are mad overrated
Serial Experimentals Lain is the best anime ever made
Agree on most of this tbh, One Piece fans coming for you
Still, I’d say Attack on Titan > My Hero when it comes to Shounen
Attack on Titan isn't even a Shounen, yes it's in Shounen Jump magazine but it's 100% more of a mature action/drama/fantasy show than a Shounen show - Shounen fits more to shows like Naruto/DBZ/One Piece - shows about power ups and big fights.
Shinkai is fine, lmao. His most recent movie wasn't that great but Garden of Words and Your Name were both good and fine. Mostly everything else you said right tho, Darling in the Franxx is ass that rode off the fact that Trigger worked on it for like 10 episodes.
Slice of life animes are dogshit
"I only like watching buff men scream at each other" = slice of life anime are dogshit
"I don't like it" doesn't mean it sucks zzzzzzzz learn to appreciate a medium
Bleach is vastly overhated and the majority who hate it didn’t even watch or read it
I think Bleach is overhated but definitely deserved criticisms. Too much filler was stuck into the anime (given they had to due to manga speeds), and the ending of the manga wasn't great - given that was Jump's fault for cancelling Kubo and not on him at all. HXH is fine and actually a great show, one of the best designed power systems in all of anime.
All shonens that came in this post-Naruto era are all suck, mostly carried by their anime adaptation (which has gotten good, we finally seeing actual effort put into the work and not for the sake of coming up w them faster)
Bleach was ahead of its time, if it came out in the latter half of past decade show would've seen more deserved recognition (adaptation quality, exposure/popularity off recency)
K-On is responsible for bringing moe to mainstream and still unmatched at it, one of them more than meets the eye type of show, a quality none of it peers has delved into
Slime manga is great, is one of the GOATs now
Current generation of animators is the best one yet
Makoto Shinkai isn't among one of the greats (director)
Mari Okada get to have so much projects it ridiculous
Naoko Yamada is the unsung hero in the industry, she definitively has one of the biggest impact in the last decade
the reception of anime now is just about right to me, not underrated/overrated, becoming mainstream. A good balance
The point on Shounens is just wrong, no point in debating it.
Bleach was pretty good - not bad, but definitely deserved its criticisms. Fullbring arc was ass.
Agreed on K-On! Slime is also great.
It's pretty inarguable that Shinkai is one of the greats, I want more details if you want to try and knock him down.
Naoko Yamada is most definitely underappreciated. Mostly because The Shape of Voice came out the same year as Your Name and got kind of overshadowed in a sense.
Samurai Champloo has the best artistic animation and setting and the score with it adds so much more.
Gangsta was 10/10 until the finale. Gotta be the worst finale of an anime I've ever seen.
Wolf's Rain is most underrated for me.
Deadman Wonderland could have been so much more
Deadman Wonderland is simply held back by the fact that they refused to adapt the rest of the manga for ??? reasons, I assume tied to it's reception in Japan.
Naruto was only ever good because Kishimoto ripped off the Harry Potter books
It stopped being good once he stopped biting Rowling
Finally, last post now that I read everything.
A lot of people on this site/in this thread have no concept of anime genres and just call everything they've watched with male protag characters shounen.
Also, if you don't speak Japanese, don't critique pieces that require understanding of Japanese and Japanese culture, because you probably just don't understand. (Chihayafuru, Weathering With You, Your Name, ect.)

Wrong

"I don't like it" doesn't mean it sucks zzzzzzzz learn to appreciate a medium
It’s going to be okay man this too shall pass
Dr. Stone is anime for kiddies and it's corny
lmfao you out here praising Death Note but saying Dr. Stone is for kids
how f***ing dumb

No matter how you’d like to put it, it still falls under Shounen lol — it’s part of the demographic. I mean yea it’s got more meat to its bone, but it’s not exactly the first time its happened no. There’s Shounen shows that would/could/can = Seinen, and vice versa. All a matter of technicality. I’m really not to argue it’s placement, imo if it’s good it’s good y’know that’s all I really care about
Dragon ball z is trash and goku is a trash character
Cowboy bebop and demon slayer are mid
FMA:B is good but not top tier anime worthy at all
Code geass is an amazing anime if you view it as a comedy as a serious anime its mid
Jus wanna say i appreciate ur avi and that manga does not get enough love
The point on Shounens is just wrong, no point in debating it.

The new gen shonen just not on the same league as the major ones that's been around when Naruto was still being published
Putting aside the commercial success Shinkai's output has always been average, he's really the industry's equivalent of Drake
lmfao you out here praising Death Note but saying Dr. Stone is for kids
how f***ing dumb
Dr. Stone is pretty much The Magic School Bus but without the good characters and humor
Really all they do is encounter a new problem, solve it with science and make corny jokes during
That's cool and all but they don't have to pretend they have a plot / characters because it's all very predictable and corny
It's obvious no one's gonna die and no bad thing will ever happen, Senku is the smartest smartie on Earth and knows everything, and the power of friendship or whatever
Also people making a stupid reaction face is not funny the 200th time they do that
